This holiday property is just a 5-minute walk from Torquay, in the heart of the English Riviera.

Woodfield Manor is part of a Grade ll listed building, tucked away in a quiet exclusive part of Torquay in the heart of the English Riviera, within a 5-minute walk of the harbour and town. It was once the home of Edward Vivian, a banker, scientist and benefactor to the poor. Woodfield was built for him and his family in the early 1840s. The building is steeped in history being part of the Torbay Civic Society’s Blue Plaque Scheme. Woodfield Manor (ref 25601) is a very spacious property which retains many original features including high ceilings, large rooms, stained glass windows and bay windows with distant views over the harbour. Woodfield Manor Apartment 1 (ref 30072) is a spacious second floor apartment for 2 people. Torquay and the area offer days out, especially for a family holiday or friends who want to holiday together. Living Coasts Zoo is within walking distance where penguins wander freely. Take a boat trip and have a day out in Brixham, wander around the shops, take in the fish quay, have a day out mackerel fishing or visit one of the splendid fish restaurants. Torquay also has a theatre with various shows on all year. Babbacombe has a lot to offer including a cliff railway, model village and lovely shops. How about a ride on the High Flyer Balloon at Torre Abbey Sands. There are 22 miles of coastline, walks, cliffs, coves and beaches, along with its mild climate. Torquay is a place to relax, to soak up the atmosphere, to take in the scenery and enjoy the experience of a holiday in a classic English seaside resort. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

What can I say but this is a must for anyone having a holiday in Torquay. I was absolutely blown away when I first walked in. Flowers , biscuits , fruit and a bottle of wine. That's not to mention the immaculate condition of the apartment. Can't wait to go back. Felt totally at home and didn't come home with any dirty laundry either. Thank you Jonathan and a big thank you to the very lovely Agnes

We both thought the property was wonderful. Spotlessly clean, spacious and extremely well equipped. Great views. Nice touches with wine, vase of flowers, choc biscuits, milk etc provided. Quiet location. Walk up from harbour uphill but 22 bus stops just around the corner. About a 20 minute walk from Meadfoot beach in the other direction which is worth visiting.

Lovely apartment, very close to local amenities. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nice welcome touches including wine, fruit, milk, tea and coffee. A couple of minor negatives are: It's quite dark as it's an attic space with small windows. This could easily be improved with better lighting. Accessed by steep staircase, so you need to be reasonably fit!

The apartment was in excellent condition, with all the necessary facilities. A well equipped kitchen and utility room, modern bathroom and airy sitting room. The one bedroom was large. The owner also very kindly left us a 'welcome pack' , which we appreciated. The apartment we rented was at the top of the house, and would not be suitable for anyone with a mobility problem (a total of 30+ stairs, the last part very steep) However this did not present a problem for us.

We were very impressed with how spacious and clean the apartment was. Everywhere smelled fresh, despite the age of the property. The "welcome pack" was excellent and the equipment provided all looked good quality and clean. This was a far cry from the cramped, grubby cottage we moved on to in Cornwall after our week in Torquay. We only mention this to highlight what a super apartment Woodfield is - and very good value. Additional plus points are the amazing view from the lounge window and proximity to the centre of Torquay. The only negatives are that carrying luggage up all the stairs really was a struggle and it is a tiring trek back up the hill to the apartment from the centre of Torquay - though a taxi from the harbour only charged us £3.80.

The apartment was so well maintained and on arrival we found fresh flowers, fresh fruit, fresh milk, a bottle of alcohol, chocolate biscuits and a new washing up sponge and dish cloth along with washing up liquid, hand wash plus hand cream in the bathroom, the list of 'extras was amazing.

This was our second stay at Woodfield Manor Apartment 1 and as before it was spot on. We cannot fault it at all. If we return to Torquay we will definitely stay at Woodfield Manor.

Great place to stay, presented well and very welcoming, loads of space, actually somewhere in the kitchen to put your food supplies for the whole week. Great bonus having utility room. Worth noting that it has high speed internet, it is an building with multiple apartments a mix of holiday lets and residents.

Spent a lovely 5 days at Woodfield. The apartment is on the top floor, so not ideal if you have mobility issues or young children, but if not the effort is well worth it for the great view across Torquay harbour. The apartment is very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a self catering stay. The kitchen is a good size and they have fitted everything you need including a small fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Good quality utensils. They have even managed to fit in a utility room with washing machine and dryer, a great addition if you are staying for a longer time. The bathroom is small, especially the shower, but is very well decorated and more than adequate for a short stay. The bedroom is big and has a lovely outlook. For me the bed , although comfortable, was a little soft for my liking but obviously this is a personal choice. Would have been nice if a small wardrobe was added instead of having to use the cupboard in the living room to hag up clothes. The living room is a great size with 2 seater setee and a single armchair and nice table and chairs. Nice flat screen TV with DVD and satellite TV. The location is good, although a 15 minute walk into the town, which includes quite a steep hill. Not a problem for us, but older people might have to use a car. Overall a lovely apartment in a good location.
