Description

Brimming with history and character, this holiday property is an ideal base for visiting Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire.

Woodbine Cottage is a beautiful, 250-year-old half-timber holiday property. Originally part of the Easton Court estate, the house is steeped in character and history, from the bread oven and oil-fired Aga in the kitchen, through to the solid oak flooring and the wood-burning stove in the living room. It is the perfect place for entertaining, with its antique French farmhouse dining table seating 10. Upstairs, light and airy bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated with antique furniture and guests can enjoy wonderful views across open pastures to the Saxon church of Little Hereford. It sits within half an acre of enclosed gardens and there is plenty of space for dining and relaxing outdoors. This holiday property is perfectly situated on the border of three of England’s most beautiful counties: Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire. Although Little Hereford is a small and quiet hamlet, Woodbine is surrounded by a wealth of countryside walks including a walk along the River Teme, past the ancient church to a wonderful pub on the river. Little Hereford is within 10 minutes of the historic town of Ludlow; steeped in history and world-renowned for its medieval castle and ‘foodie’ reputation. The antique shops of Leominster are only a 15-minute drive away and further afield, guests are within easy reach of the beauty of the Elan Valley, the Brecon Beacons and the Long Mynd. Shop 2 miles, pub serving food ½ mile.

Hallway/utility (low doorway) with bread oven. Spacious living room with wood-burning stove, French doors and wooden floor. Large dining room with feature ornamental fireplace, antique solid oak French dining table, French doors and wooden floor. Step up to well-equipped, beamed farmhouse-style kitchen (low doorway) with oil Aga, electric cooker and wooden floor. Shower room with toilet. First floor: Three double bedrooms, each with step up; two with 5ft bed and ornamental fireplace. Single bedroom with two steps leading to further single bedroom. Step down to bathroom with shower over roll-top bath and toilet.

Beautiful property with character. Very comfortable accommodation, nice furnishings. Family and dog friendly. Lots of games provided to cater for all ages. Lots of space inside and outside. We were luck to have great weather during our stay so spent a lot of time in the garden. I would suggest more garden furniture. Simon very accommodating with check in and out times. Car needed to make use of local amenities.

Fabulous holiday cottage with just about everything you could wish for. A very thoughtful welcome basket on arrival, toys and games for all ages, every pot,pan ,plate and glass that you could need and more- super space, comfortable beds. The owners were very accommodating, our children wanted to surprise us and hire a hot tub for a few days, which they agreed to and which we thoroughly enjoyed. The pool table offered us hours of competitive fun! There are lovely walks (detailed in the information book that is provided ) from right outside the front door. Unfortunately the local pub has closed down-the nearest is pub is about a 5minute drive away, Woodbine cottage is on a very busy main road so we thought walking was not advisable . Eight of us stayed at woodbine cottage and eight of us would stay again!!

There was a lovely hamper waiting with lots of gorgeous items. The toddlers loved the selection of toys in the games room. We all didn't want to leave!!
