accomodation was excellent as was location. local pub 2 minutes walk away has great food and beer garden and great walks for dogs at bogle crag 3 minute drive and even more walks at grizedale forest 10 minute drive. only minor detail was that the fridge freezer in utility room appeared not to work and i hope that the owners realised this and does not affect our security deposit

Very good house and location. very well equipped and easy to live in. Very clear few shops nearby so that was no problem. very good pub in village. Ideal for what we wanted. Cost is not reasonable, but that is just the Lake District - not a lot you can do about that. would definitely use again.

Great place to stay especially if you want to be out in Grizedale forest. No need to drive. There is a garage and the ground floor next to the front door. The entry hall has a tiled floor and drying room and boot area with bench. This is perfect on wet muddy days. The kitchen upstairs is well equipped for a holiday rental. The wood burner was lovely but take your own fire lighters. The broadband is great. The lounge has freesat and is cosy with the fire going . We didn’t use the patio. The bedrooms have smaller doubles but are comfortable. The spa bath didn’t work but the combi boiler meant that there was always hot water. The shower was powerful. We stayed after storm Eunice so quite a few trees down. None near the barn. Parking is tight better for 1 car/ van rather that 2 cars. We didn’t visit the pub or the cafe but they were open. Access is via proper country lanes. There is no light pollution at night . We loved our stay and would happily book again.
