This property is part of our Scottish regional Cottages collection

The Scottish Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Scotland better!

A romantic retreat in a peaceful, rural location surrounded by 12 acres of natural, un-spoilt, woodland grounds, great for walks.

This spacious barn conversion is situated on a country road in the Ayrshire countryside, close to the villages of Coylton and Stair. Set within 12 acres of farm and woodland, with a short woodland walk direct from the door, this semi-detached cottage, next to the owners’ home, provides a tranquil holiday base from which to explore the beauty of Ayrshire and south west Scotland.
Ayrshire offers unspoilt scenery and a varying coastline with the Ayrshire Coastal Path, 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles, easily accessed.
Inland, there are gardens and castles to visit, riding, racing, a choice of golf courses and several country parks to visit. Culzean Castle (owned by the National Trust for Scotland) being Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction, has a network of wooded trails passing along the beach. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Stranraer, and both Glasgow and Edinburgh can easily be reached for a day out.

I cannot praise this place enough, the owners are the epitome of hospitality and Scottish charm. Both myself and my dogs enjoyed ourselves immensely and would return anytime and recommend it to everyone.

Absolutely superb. The cottage is a credit to its owners and offers everything you could wish for and a bit more for a relaxing break.Notwithstanding the cottage itself the hamper waiting for us on arrival was an unexpected bonus and much appreciated.Great place to bring the dogs as they got freedom to run in the field and woods at the back of the house. Finally the crystal whisky glasses just topped everything off. One of the best cottages we have stayed in.

What a beautiful cottage and it has everything you need. We got a really warm welcome from Sally and the breakfast hamper, home baking and fresh flowers were a lovely surprise as were the treats and dog bed and towel left for our dog. Loved the upstairs reading room, very relaxing. Lots of nice walks both on the doorstep and surrounding areas. Would highly recommend this lovely cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at Windmill's End. The cottage was very well stocked with everything we needed and it was really nice to have a welcome hamper when we arrived. The cottage was clean and very nicely furnished. The location was really nice but there was a bit of noise from the road. It didn't bother us but it would be worth keeping in mind for anyone looking for complete silence! We didn't get to use the garden because of the weather during our visit but it looked lovely. Parking was very convenient - right outside the front door and it was only a short drive to supermarkets (or the generally well-stocked Spar in Coylton). Overall, a great place to stay.

Windmills End is a stunning cottage. Jim and Sally have created a beautiful home from home and so much more. The cottage is excellently appointed but the attention to detail and wonderful extras make this a warm and inviting perfect place to stay. It provides an ideal base from which to explore Ayrshire but is also a lovely place to spend some spend some relaxation time.
