Willow Tree Barn is a detached property next to a working farm and set within its own private secluded garden. There is a water feature and outside seating where you can enjoy a glass of wine, relax and take in the country atmosphere and sunset. The barn is located within the owner’s grounds with private access and has parking for one car. There are three small steps to the private pathway which is approximately 40 metres long and tree lined. The barn is on one level with an open plan living area, and separate bedroom and bathroom. The barn is located just outside the village of Purleigh with a short walk along the country lane to New Hall vineyard where you are able to sample their award-winning wines. There is always opportunity to buy what you sample. Purleigh has its own ancient church, with stunning views over the River Blackwater. One of the previous rectors was George Washington’s great-grandfather.

The traditional market town of Maldon with its historic quayside, barges and river trips is 5 minutes’ drive. Maldon has a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. There are many other villages and towns for you to explore along the River Crouch and Blackwater. It’s a short drive to North Fambridge train station which takes you into London via Westfield shopping centre and the Olympic grounds of 2012 (which is around 40 minutes’). There are several golf courses nearby. This is a pleasant and comfortable place to explore all the undiscovered jewels of Essex. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

A beautiful barn conversion, perfect for two. There are few local amenities so you do need a car to get around, but Maldon is only 10 minutes away. Exceptionally clean and tidy, a fridge already stocked with a few essentials when we arrived and our own private garden to relax in. Owners have lots of local knowledge about places to visit, pubs, shops, etc and were always happy to help when we needed something. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

We arrived at the property and had a warm welcome from the owners but when the owners left and we looked round the property we discovered it hadn’t been cleaned and was filthy dirty. We got straight back in the car and had to come home.
