Willow Cottage is a cosy terraced property ideally situated for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer.

Willow Cottage sits in a peaceful location which is perfect for exploring Cornwall’s coastlines, with easy access to the Lizard Peninusla, the UK’s most southerly point, and Land’s End, the most westerly point of mainland Cornwall and England. This delightful property has been lovingly renovated by its owners to provide guests with a cosy and comfortable residence, whilst retaining many of its original features. Be it an action-packed family holiday or a romantic retreat for couples, Willow Cottage suits all manner of holiday makers. This terraced cottage, with a private drive, is approached via a pedestrian gate and vine-covered archway. There are a number of secluded coves and beaches close by, including Prussia Cove, Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands Beach. Nearby, Porthleven is a popular destination thanks to its historic harbour and its selection of quality restaurants and cafés. There’s also a vast network of picturesque walking trails in the area, and easy access to the coastal pathways.

Head south to Marazion, the gateway to the enchanting St Michael’s Mount (the ‘jewel’ in Cornwall’s crown). The small tidal island can be reached on foot by a causeway at low tide, or by ferry at high tide. Continue a short distance to Penzance, with its harbour and marina overlooking the sweeping Mounts Bay. Stroll along the promenade to Newlyn, with its famous art gallery and fishing fleet, and continue around the coast to the pretty sheltered harbour of Mousehole, with its winding alleyways lined with art and craft shops. The famous Mousehole Christmas Lights attract vast numbers of visitors from around the UK during the winter season. Cornwall’s north coast, with its popular tourist destination St Ives, is also a short drive from the property.

The area is popular with walkers, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike, with marshes at Marazion and Hayle Estuary. There’s also a seal sanctuary at Gweek, and families with young children might want to explore Flambards Theme Park at Helston. For a touch of culture in Cornwall, the Minack Theatre promises a spectacle you won’t soon forget. Water sports nearby include surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing and canoeing. Beach 2 miles. Shop and pub 200 yards, restaurant 2 miles.

Willow Cottage is a very clean, cosy cottage and is perfect for exploring the Lizard and around Mount's Bay. The owners had kindly left a welcome pack and also treats and blankets for the dog. The secure front garden meant we were able to relax with our Airedale off the lead and with a dog friendly pub within a stone's throw serving good pub grub, and a very safe dog walking field at the top of the road for morning walks meant she had a great holiday too. Porthleven nearby has some fantastic pubs and restaurants, including a new Rick Stein's fish restaurant (which also has 2 dog-friendly tables!) so we were spoilt for choice. The only suggestion we have is that the owner makes it very clear in the cottage description that no towels are provided. Bed linen is included but it should be stated in bold that no towels are provided.

Willow Cottage was a perfect holiday location for us, as we wanted to explore the Lizard. The cottage itself was like a home from home with everything we needed and more. There were so many little touches - fresh flowers, saffron buns, high quality bedding and a quintessential English country garden. We enjoyed a week of glorious weather and walked miles with our Springer. Everything was clean, tidy and felt well cared for - it was modern in all the right areas without losing its traditional charm.
