This idyllic ’chocolate box’ cottage is in a quaint village setting and makes a great location to holiday year round.

Located in the heart of Northumberland, Willow Cottage is a Grade II listed, detached cottage retaining many features and oozing character and charm. The pretty setting of the cottage, with the little stone bridge and small stream to the front, really does present a true ’chocolate box’ image of a pretty country cottage. The inglenook fireplace is a lovely feature and the wood burner is ideal for cool nights in. The cottage is set close to the Northumberland National Park, highly acclaimed for its dark skies. The small village of Wark has village pubs, a shop and post office and is only a 2-minute walk from the cottage door. Ideally located for walkers and cyclists, being only 6 miles from the Chesters Roman Fort and Hadrian’s Wall, a huge visitor attraction stretching from Wallsend, near Newcastle, over to Carlisle. The small town of Bellingham is only 5 miles with an array of local amenities, whilst Hexham with its abbey, shops and pubs is just 12 miles away. You can visit the Northumbrian Heritage Coast which is easy to access and makes a lovely day out, with miles of golden sands stretching along to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Alnwick Castle is only 40 miles, and is famed for its scenes in Harry Potter. The visitor centres at Kielder Water are only 19 miles where there are miles of mountain bike trails and water sports for all the family to enjoy. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
