This traditional cottage is in a peaceful location, with the coast just 20 miles away.

One of a row of three, this 19th-century red stone cottage is situated in the town of Kirriemuir, the birth place of the creator of Peter Pan. The kitchen is made from reclaimed materials and although fully functional, it has a rustic feel about it. Ideally positioned to explore the local area and benefiting from a wonderful open fire, ideal for cosy evenings reminiscing over the day’s activity. Opportunities to play golf are aplenty with Carnoustie, Glenisla and Blairgowrie all accessible while Montrose, Carnoustie and Lunan Bay all provide sandy beaches, perfect for a bracing walk, flying a kite or for building a sandcastle in the warmer months. Dundee, Scotland’s fourth largest city, is easily accessible and offers a good selection of shops and numerous pubs and eateries. Pitlochry, known as a gateway to the Highlands, is just over an hour’s drive. Shop 200 yards, restaurant and pub ¼ mile.

Not suitable for toddlers. Very steep mezzanine stair. Steps down into the bath. Many plug sockets don’t work, work and cut out or buzz. Kitchen worktop not fit for purpose- varnished wood, gone tacky and black. TV signal very poor, went off. Garden overgrown. Good points- warm on arrival, clean, quite comfortable bed, couch.

It is a lovely quaint little cottage and I get that it has a lot of reclaimed and original features but it was counters, bath surrounds and sitting room

This is a cosy, comfortable, quirky and charming little cottage with interesting features. Nice surroundings - the walk to the nearby park on the hill offers great views and Kirriemuir has all the amenities you will need. Access to the Angus Glens for good walking and the lovely beaches at the coast are only half an hour away. The only downside was the kitchen which was in need of a good clean. All the surfaces were sticky and greasy, possibly because the extractor fan was faulty and not useable. The kitchen table was also literally falling apart in the middle. A shame as the rest of the house was to a pretty good standard. Not enough to spoil our stay and would go back.

Didn't stay in this cottage at all as we couldn't get the heating to work & it was far too cold.... we ended up having to stay elsewhere. I contacted the lady who left the keys for us & she was very helpful & apologetic, but have had no response from the owner or the rental company. Very disapointing Christmas visit..... won't make same mistake again👎🏻
