The most fantastic location for getting away from it all. Beautiful views from Living Room & Bedroom Windows. Bernard the Owner was brilliant, left us a welcome Basket with Wine, bread, coffee etc & gave us loads of local information. We are travelling around Ireland and Wild Atlantic Haven is the perfect house for the Wild Atlantic Way

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in this lovely remote cottage, a very peaceful and relaxing holiday. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable with everything that you need, it has the most amazing views that we will really miss when we return home. The owners are very helpful and cannot do enough to make your stay a pleasant one, a big thank you to them, Anita & Jenny. Great welcome basket, such a thoughtful idea. There are lots of places to visit locally and some really beautiful walks. Eyeries is a few kilometers away with a shop and a post office, but for a larger shop we visited Castletownbere we had some great meals there and enjoyed walking around the harbour. If we get the chance we would definitely stay here again.

We spent a lovely relaxing week at Wild Atlantic Haven, never tiring of the views from this spacious and comfortable cottage. Gerard and his housekeeper Anita couldn't have been more welcoming on our arrival and were extremely helpful whenever we had questions about the house or the local area. The house is about 5 miles from the picture postcard village of Eyeries, which has a shop, post office, couple of good pubs, nice restaurant and coffee shop – all very friendly. We have 3 teenage kids 12, 14, 16 so we were concerned that the there may not be enough for them to do on the peninsula but thankfully there was plenty to offer them. They enjoyed a real mix of kayaking, walking, horse riding, rib rides and didn't complain when we took them to the beautiful gardens on Garnish Island or the interpretative sculpture garden – Ewe Experience. All this was within about an hour's drive of the cottage. Nothing on the beautiful Beara peninsula is very far away in terms of distance, however the pretty winding country roads mean that you naturally take your time getting there. If you're looking to wind down, take in the breathtaking views interspersed with the odd adventure this is a very good choice. We would come again!

If you want perfect peace and seclusion with stunning views then this property fits the bill.it is well equipped and has comfortable beds. There are also lovely views to be enjoyed from the kitchen diner and the lounge provides a cosy evening environment. The plumbing facilities need some attention particularly when four senior adults are sharing!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you very much for the lovely review you left in our guestbook and the online comments about the cottage. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and have taken some wonderful and lasting memories home from your stay at our cottage and the Beara peninsula. Currently we do not advertise or cater for guests that require specially adapted bathroom facilities or the use of a wheelchair. This is an area we are exploring which would include the installation of a downstairs wet room for showering. The cottage does however provide full accessibility for guests with restrictive movement that includes widened hallways, widened door frames, lowered light switches and separate ground floor bathrooms.
