This barn conversion retains its original charm and character, located within Devonshire countryside, ideal for walking and visiting local historic attractions.

Bathroom: With bath, shower attachment, toilet, velux window and beams.

Oil underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Wood burner, available September-April, initial fuel included. Welcome pack. Enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture. 26-acre grounds (shared with owner and other cottages on-site). Hot tub for 6 (private). Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: Grounds are not available when livestock is present.

Whitelake Farm sits peacefully within stunning countryside and just 7 miles from the glorious North Devon Coast. These pretty, adjoining barn conversions and large detached farmhouse have been tastefully renovated and retain much of their original character and charm. They offer a relaxing holiday retreat, ideal for couples, families and friends to unwind in and recharge their batteries.
Both Hay Barn (UK10340) and Tithe Barn (ref UK10339) have their own private hot tubs, for which extra towels are provided. Isobel’s Cottage (ref UK10903) is very spacious and has stone fireplaces and a feature bread oven in the living room. There are granite worktops in the kitchen, as well as a homely range. All three properties have large private gardens, which open onto a shared field with play facilities for the children and plenty of space to let off steam. Guests are also free to enjoy the owners 26 acres of farmland that surround the properties and which are home to the owner’s horses and sheep. On a chilly evening, why not curl up beside the cosy wood burner with a good book or enjoy a film together?
North Devon has so much to offer for couples and families alike. The wonderful sandy beaches at Westward Ho!, Northam Burrows, Saunton and Croyde are perfect for sunbathers and surfers, or why not visit some of the local attractions such as The Milky Way, The Big Sheep or Arlington Court? Those feeling more active can try out the nearby North Devon Wakepark, The Ultimate Adventure and the famous Tarka Trail, which is perfect for those wishing to take a long walk or a cycle ride. There are also many wonderful pubs in the area.
The regional town of Barnstaple is just 5 miles, with good shops and restaurants. The pannier market and Butcher’s Row are well worth a visit. Great Torrington, 6 miles known as the ’Cavalier Town’ since the Civil War of 1646, has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as the historic 1664 Civil War Centre, a delightful pannier market and the highly acclaimed Plough Arts Centre which houses a theatre, music, live entertainment, small cinema, café and art gallery. There is also the Dartington Crystal Factory here and for garden lovers, the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor.
You’ll find there is something for everyone in this lovely corner of North Devon with golf, riding, watersports, coastal and country walking and fishing available locally, and for those wanting to travel a bit further, Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within reach.
