We loved it. We wanted quintessential thatched cottage with all mod cons in rural location...and that is exactly what we got. Very relaxing after a busy day exploring the delights of Dartmoor and beyond.

This was our third time at the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The gardens are beautiful and loved sitting out there. Lots of places to visit and eat in nearby. Don’t normally watch television on holiday but as World Cup and England were playing the men wanted to watch but tv really small so wished we had gone down pub and watched it on a decent sized tv. Also cream tea not the best, shop bought tiny scones and not much cream. Apart from those two small gripes would highly recommend a stay at Whiteabury cottage.

Response on behalf of the owner; Welcome back for the 3rd visit!! Yes- we plead guilty to not having a giant television in the cottage! We do have three televisions one in the lounge, one in the kitchen and one in the master bedroom -all connected to SKY TV, but none of them would be considered large by today's standards. I just cannot imagine a cottage of such an age (300 years plus) with a huge television dominating the room and competing with the inglenook fireplace, so we have never had one. I suppose we have just gotten used to it - sorry if it ruined the World Cup but hopefully viewing other programs has been successful for you. On the plus side you must have noticed that we have added free wifi to our list of amenities. Being located in such a rural area our mobile reception can be sketchy so we hope this extra feature made your stay a bit more convenient. Hope to see you again in future!
