This is a Wonderful place to stay. The garden is well equipped and beautiful. The cottage is spacious and has a very homely feel. Only problems I found was that the master bedroom mattress could do with replacing, the shower is very under powered and has no curtain so can't be used as a shower and the lounge is dark in the day but this is more due to the it being an old cottage and so having smaller windows. These aside the place itself is truly a chocolate box cottage. Well worth a look.

We had a lovely time at Whiteabury cottage -- it's a beautiful traditional thatched cottage, with an enormous garden that my kids loved running round endlessly. It's not far from Chagford (although a bit too far for an easy walk, especially with young kids), which is a beautiful place & has a fantastic bakery & it's well positioned for loads of days out with kids. There's no stair gate, so if you're travelling with toddlers, you have to be a bit creative to find a solution to that! Some of the information in the visitor information booklet was a bit out of date & we had to go out & buy a plug from B&Q on the first day to be able to use the bath (as the shower isn't great & fluctuates unpredictability between scalding hot & freezing cold & the plug provided for the bath didn't fit properly so the bath wouldn't fill at all). Apart from those minor few things, I would definitely recommend a stay at Whiteabury cottage & we had a fantastic week!

Whiteabury Cottage has everything you could possibly need and is truly a home from home. The building and decor are so welcoming and appropriate for a thatched country cottage. The gardens are delightful and so much bigger than we thought!! There is no lack of tables and chairs, the summerhouse is so quaint. It is on a country road so you will hear some traffic, but we were out most of the day so this didn’t disturb us and at night it is so quiet and peaceful. It is very rural with the beautiful village of Chagford only a mile or so away. I would definitely recommend this cottage, thank you to the owners for making us feel welcomed and for sharing their property.
