Explore the Norfolk Broad’s from this property, which even has its own mooring, or simply relax and enjoy the river views.

Wherryman’s Cottage is a detached riverside holiday cottage believing to date back to the early 1800s. It has plenty of character with its beams, farmhouse kitchen and Aga and offers idyllic river views, superb boating and mooring (motorised day launch with life jackets available to hire, at cost), fishing and bird watching opportunities; an ideal place for relaxing and exploring the Norfolk Broads. The most popular way of exploring this stunning area, which teems with wildlife, is by boat, but there are also many cycle pathways to explore, including the Weaver’s Way. This covers a stretch of some 56 miles, winding its way through the Broads to Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cottage is located in the pretty village of Coltishall with riverside pubs and shops. Wroxham, known as the Capital of the Broads, is just 3 miles away with waterside cafes, restaurants, shops, railway station and other amenities. Visitors of all ages will also enjoy a visit to Wroxham Barns, where giftware, country foods, a rose and plant centre, junior farm and funfair as well as craft studios and restaurant combine in one location. Children will also enjoy BeWILDerwood Adventure Park with its treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges and boat trips, which all combined makes a great day out. The seaside resorts of Great Yarmouth and Sheringham offer sandy beaches as well as markets and family entertainment; there is also over 700 acres of National Trust parkland to be found at Sheringham. Alternatively, spend a day in the fine city of Norwich, 8 miles, with its Norman cathedral, castle, museums, theatres, twisting narrow streets and ancient churches. Norwich offers a vast array of cafes and shops, and it boasts an open air markets with brightly coloured stalls. National Trust properties well worth visiting are Felbrigg Hall and Blicking Hall. Golf can be found at Sprowston Hall. Shop ¾ mile, pub 5 minutes’ walk.

Great cottage in a beautiful location. View from back garden was simply stunning. Lots to do in surrounding areas. I would definitely stay there again. However, may not suit everyone as parking can be an issue.

Perfect location for a short break. The accommodation is homely and comfortable. The weather was great for our stay so we were able to make full use of the outside facilities and the boat. We will certainly book again in the future.

Place needed a good clean cobwebs everywhere and wasps eveywhere to the cottage needs updating nothing for children around the area

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. There are lots of things to do in the area for adults and children, but it’s easier to access lots of them via car as bus services are limited.

This was our 2nd stay and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The only disappointment was there was a charge this time to use the boat whereas previously it was included in the rental price. At £150 a day this would have increased the cost of our holiday significantly

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The boat is £150 a week out of school holidays and £250 in school holidays.

The cottage and situation of it are beautiful. It is in an idyllic spot on the river bend and the last house on the row. The garden is beautiful and lovely for playing badminton. We had a lovely barbecue one evening outside. The interior is cosy, warm and countryfied. Lovely beams throughout the cottage. Only real negative was that the beds were quite hard and the sofa could do with replacing for comfort. The Aga oven is lovely, never used one before so quite a treat. The launch boat was wonderful and having access to this made the stay much more leisurely and life went at a slower pace on the water. We saw loads of wildlife from the boat, including terns, swans, ducklings and herons to name a few.
