Enjoying a delightful location close to Linton Falls in the stunning Upper Wharfedale Valley, this traditional cottage dating from the early 1900s is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. Offering comfortable holiday accommodation for a family or group of friends, it is a relaxing base to return to after a day walking, cycling and touring. The natural beauty and spectacular scenery surrounding Wharefedene is ideal for walkers and cyclists with walks in every direction starting from the cottage.
A quaint 14th Century packhorse footbridge across the river (known locally as Little Emily’s Bridge) is just a moment’s walk away. Enjoy a short stroll along the footpath to the pretty village of Grassington which hosts the annual summer festival in late June/early July and the Dickensian weekends in December. Alternatively from the grounds of the 12th-century church is access to the stepping stones across the river and a path through the fields leading to Hebden and Burnsall, you will discover many picnic spots along the way. Linton has a country inn renowned for its fine ales and excellent food with the surrounding villages offering plenty of choice for dining out. Further along the valley is the abbey ruins and priory at Bolton Abbey and just a 20-minute drive away is the market town of Skipton with its imposing castle, open air markets, shops and restaurants.

Perfect place to stay. Everything you could want on your door step, walks, scenery, wildlife, accessible for local amenities. Also perfect location for getting to other areas of the dales. Can't wait to return. Cottage so homely and clean. Felt like home from home. Wanted to stay forever.

The cottage was fine for what we needed, however it was very cold on the first day and night as the heating was storage heaters and electric timed wall heaters, these had been turned off which meant It took 24 hours for the storage heaters to work effectively. There was no real information in the cottage with regard to the heaters or the timings on the electric wall heaters so it was a good thing we knew how these worked. I feel it would have been better is someone had been the day before we arrived and turned these on.
