This cosy detached, beamed 200-year-old cottage, with a delightful west facing garden with views over the Berkshire Downs, nestles in a small hamlet outside historic Abingdon and a few miles from Oxford. Oxford is the city of dreaming spires famous for its university, the Bodleian Library and Inspector Morse. There is so much to do and see in the area including boat hire, walking in the Downs, cycling on the National Cycle Route or spend a day at Blenheim Palace and finally return to the peaceful cottage garden and watch the sun set over the Berkshire Downs. Golf at Frilford Heath 2 miles. Shops 2 miles, pub ¼ mile.

This is a lovely cottage - very clean and the owner left lots of welcoming touches. We loved the beautiful views and wildlife watching - there are hundreds of rabbits in the area. We also saw red kites. Very convenient location for Oxford and Abingdon was also lovely to visit. The property could do with a non-slip mat in the bath as it was treacherously slippery and someone will fall sooner or later in the tub or shower if this is not provided.

Gorgeous cottage! We were made to feel so welcome with milk and fresh orange juice in the fridge, pastries, shortbread and a lovely bottle of red wine. Beautifully kept and very comfortable. The garden was fabulous for my 4 and 5 year old boys. All enclosed so no fear of them disappearing into the fields around. A really big garden thoug so they felt like it was an adventure. Only 20 min drive to Oxford centre and a stones throw from Abingdon. Highly recommend a stay here!!!

A great home for visiting Oxford and the surroundings. Our generous host offered us a bottle of wine, chocolates in the bedrooms and premium toiletries. We loved the sun house and yard (with plenty of floppy wares hopping friends).
