This is a beautiful area with walks galore but the steep stairs make it difficult for anyone to manage without extreme care. Log burner great and copious hot water, clean and tolerably equipped but kitchen has no heating. Ideal for dogs and couples as there is a downstairs bedroom. We would definitely go there again, but local pub eatery not terribly friendly whereas the shop is further than you think but super friendly and well stocked, Inverness 20mins, roads good.

Lovely location. Nice touches like soap, loo roll, washing powder provided. Welcome tea tray set out. However cottage was cold and draughty, which I'm sure wouldn't be an issue in summer, but as bedroom heating was by woodburner fuelled radiators, was very chilly as soon as fire burned low, and icy in the morning. Most appliances about 20 years old, washing machine leaked on one wash, television kept muting. Multiple light bulbs weren't working, including the shed where wash machine, tumble and freezer live. It does mention low ceilings upstairs; this includes bathroom. Door frames upstairs about 5'8". Both my sons hit their heads repeatedly. Stairs are not just steep but also have very narrow treads. A couple of doors were tricky to open, particularly sitting room. I took to reversing down lane as turning area was soggy, and I didn't want to get stuck. Can't remember if it mentions mobile phone signal but we had none, nor any WiFi, which I had thought would be the case. In a nutshell the cottage could do with updating, but if you're small, it's summer and you want solitude it would be ideal!
