A very comfy cottage and felt like home from home. Nice bedding, towels and everything you could wish for in the kitchen. Felt like we could move in and everything for day to day life would be at our finger tips. Easy to cook with lots of pots, pans and utensils and loads of store cupboard items. A generous host and we loved the home made cake (thanks for the milk too)! The log burner was easy to use and the central heating was very effective and toasty warm. Plenty of hot water and a good shower. Garden was very secure for the dog and parking easy. We really enjoyed this cottage and would definitely go back. Views are fabulous and lots of small things have been thought of to make it comfy. Shopping involves a drive to a local co-op a couple of miles away or bigger supermarkets in Matlock or Bakewell, but nothing is too far and it wasn't a hassle. Fireside chairs were great but sofa not very comfy, so could be tricky with four people watching telly in the evening fighting over the best seats (just two of us this trip). Beds could do with thicker pillows and better mattresses and the cottage could do with a deep clean (our dog found a few things to eat under the kitchen sideboard for example) but neither of these things would stop us booking again. Brighter light bulbs in the bedside lamps please! All the important areas such as kitchen worktops and bathrooms were spotless. Communication was great and we were well looked after.
