The cottage is very dark and you always needed lights on and they were not very bright for reading. The picture above and in the literature is not how it is! We found the bed far too narrow, I suspect only 4foot 6 at the most, and we are not large people! The weather was quite cold and we found it a real irritation to have to keep turning up the temperature control because it kept reverting to 12 degrees, and didn't come on until well after we wanted to be up. We left early as we weren't comfortable there and the weather was bad. We would not return.

Probably the most beautiful building and incredible location we've stayed in. Perfect for walking the dog, close to beaches and lovely views from the lounge. Lots of lovely touches such as quaint lampshades/cushions etc and bathrooms and bed were very clean. On the downside, it was very cramped with lots of unnecessary extras... Like 144 cookery books in the kitchen... And a very dusty spice rack with some spices dating back to 2007... Also, for practicality, we would have preferred hard floors as we had to vacuum every day because of our very hairy little dog. Would have been easier to keep clean with hard floors. We could actually smell dog when we got there - particularly up the stairs (and dogs aren't allowed upstairs...) Finally, really cheap soap and shower gel seemed out of place in such a lovely place. Perhaps if they had been dispensed into nice containers, we might not have noticed... We did have a lovely, relaxing week there however and would recommend it if these issues were addressed.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location. Perfect writers retreat although beautiful weather put paid to any serious writing activity!
