To the north you have many inspiring spots to explore along the North Coast 500 touring route, which starts and finishes in Inverness. To the east you have the Moray Firth, where there’s a resident pod of bottlenose dolphins, and either side of the water you have lovely sandy beaches at Rosemarkie and Nairn, only a short drive from the city. Due south are the atmospheric Cairngorm Mountains and the brilliant National Park. And out west, beyond mystical Loch Ness, you have iconic islands like Skye and the Outer Hebrides.
