Located on the outskirts of Barnoldswick, Weets Cottage is ideal for couples and small families who love the outdoors, with beautiful walks from the doorstep. This stone-built cottage offers comfortable and well-proportioned accommodation which extends over three storeys. It enjoys an elevated position on a residential street which is located in the old part of the town. The town’s amenities including a good variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk. There is a twice-weekly market and in the summer holidays, it even has its own ‘beach’ in the market square! There are many beautiful walks including the Weets Hill walk after which the cottage is named, canal walks, walks around Lake Burwain and Pendle Hill. Should you fancy something a bit more challenging, why not try the 3 Peaks Challenge which is very accessible from here. Other activities available locally include golf, fishing, a leisure centre and swimming baths. For the more adventurous there is a ski centre in Sabden, 15 miles, and the Urban Altitude experience in Colne, 6 miles. Colne will also appeal to shoppers with its Boundary Mill retail outlet.
Surrounded by the Pennines on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, Barnoldswick is the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country. Visit Brontë Country, Yorkshire Dales, Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland (AONB). The cities of Manchester, Leeds and Preston are within an hour’s drive thanks to the M65.
Places of interest within easy driving distance include Skipton, 9 miles, Bolton Abbey, 14 miles, Clitheroe, 13 miles, Haworth, 15 miles, and Malham, 15 miles. Every thing was very well suited to our stay. A few minor suggestions - a place to hang coats in the entry and a few hooks to hang towels in the bathroom.

Cottage was spotless clean and bed very comfortable, stairs no problem for us (69/71). The only thing missing was a teapot (I love my pot of tea) but it was a probelm. A bit hilly walking up from village but did okay. Shops local for shopping and a very good bus service to get about. We had lots of local walks and along the canals. We enjoyed staying in the cottage and would book it again 100% if we visit that area again.

This was a great cottage for our needs. It was well equipped and reasonably clean. Nearby are good places to eat or get a takeaway as well as plenty of things to see and do within a hours drive. However do pay attention to the notes about steps both upto the house and the steep stairs in the property. Fine for many but does make it unsuitable for anyone who struggles with stairs and climbing. Also make sure your vehicles parking brake works as many roads are very steep.

For what we wanted this cottage was perfect, got the bus in to Skipton and back no problems, basic equipment in the kitchen but enough if you are not cooking loads
