Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cart cottage which is ideally situated for visiting Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Ravenscar. Plenty of walks on the doorstep. The cottage is very cosy, not overlooked and the views are beautiful. The welcome pack was an added bonus. The proprietors are very friendly and approachable, gave advice on where to park in Scarborough, routes to take, etc. A wonderful weeks break, with glorious weather. What more could you want?

Ticked all our boxes - started with a welcome pack - the bacon and sausages were delish. Much more equipment than expected. Clean and comfortable. The area was spot on - unless you like everything on your doorstep. Very enjoyable and a good price 😁

Great location especially for dog owners, as forest walks from doorstep, cleanliness of cottage very good, but cottage as very pokey, not sure how the website managed to make it look bigger than it was, I was very surprised at how small it was. I was also quite annoyed that I couldn't park my car near to door, you had to park about 100 meters away to unload and the tarmac drive was covered in mud patches to dodge so not impressed, especially as it rained each day! On the first day there was a power cut ALL night from 6.00pm, I was without lights and power & the owner who lived next door made NO effort to come & reassure me, so I had to trek the 100 meters in the dark to the owners cottage who then advised she would get the generator running, which she did, but this only gave ceiling lights. There was NO t.v, the food I had bought in the fridge (which had already been out of fridge all day in cool bag for journey) was starting to get warm & I couldn't have a shower or charge my phone. No offer of compensation was made or updates provided by the owner. The 2 seater sofa, was the most uncomfortable I had ever found in a rental unit, and the wardrobe was useless to hang dresses or trousers as it was only half height. The sloping walls in the bedroom meant you constantly banged your head (there were no warning signs to "watch your head"), the central heating was on full blast & thermostat didn't work to turn this down/off, so again I had to trek the 100 meters in the rain to speak to owner (she didn't answer the phone number in the visitors book, so I had no choice) There was rust on the bathroom radiator & it was a challenge in itself to actually turn on the TV! If you check the visitors folder you'll also see the last fire check/certificate was 2015......3 years ago! For the price I paid, this was very poor, I wouldn't use it again as too many improvements needed & owner not very helpful either.

this cottage is very small, ok down stairs but you have to crouch to get to the bed. I bumped my head almost every day. The bed is very comfortable non the less. The cottage needs some TLC and stocking with everyday items like kitchen and bathroom cleaners. The area is beautiful, convenient for Whitby and Scarborough as well as all the lovely villages close by. This cottage may be ok for a weekend break but I would not recommend it for longer.

This cottage was amazing, so close to everything with a local pub right down the road. A welcome pack was provided with sausages, bacon eggs and bread rolls which all tasted sooo nice. Very happy with this cottage and would happily come back.

Excellent cottage in every way the only thing for myself and wife was the bed, a little to soft for us but this is just our own opinion and likeing a firmer bed. But will be back later on in the year.10/10
