We booked this cottage as our family base for the wedding of our daughter nearby. It worked extremely well and provided a lovely backdrop for the bridal preparation photographs on the morning of the wedding. The owners were friendly and helpful and after the wedding we had a lovely relaxing holiday discovering the fabulous historic houses and gardens in this beautiful area.

Waterlake Byre is ideal for us, and we have booked the cottage for the fourth year running for our annual return visit to the UK in 2018 from our home in France. We are a mature couple with a small dog, and the cottage enables us to have our younger family members to stay for the two full weekends during our stay - two adults and two children. The children love the cottage and the surrounding fields. Our hosts Patsy and Jude are welcoming and unobtrusively helpful. The cottage is ideal for entertaining around six guests for a meal - see the attached photo. The only drawback we find is that the roads leading to the cottage are fairly narrow and a lot ofthe local traffic drives at speeds that are rather daunting...
