Description

Explore the North Yorkshire Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, the fantastic coastline, the city of York and town of Harrogate with ease from this beautiful barn conversion.

Tucked away on the owners’ working livestock farm, these two holiday properties (ref 29352 and 29353) form two of five sympathetic conversions of old stone barns. The farm is home to a herd of cattle, alpacas, pigs, sheep, horses and chickens (fresh eggs available). Tastefully furnished, they successfully combine the old with the new to create an ambient atmosphere for simply relaxing, touring or walking direct from the door. The local village inn serves excellent food and is a 10 minutes’ stroll away, whilst the bustling market town of Thirsk is just 4 miles away and offers a wide range of restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs, together with the James Herriot Museum and Thirsk Racecourse. Sutton Bank is renowned for its exceptional long distance panoramic views from where you may wish to watch gliders take full advantage of the strong thermals. There is easy access to two National Parks (the Yorkshire Dales and the rugged scenery of the North York Moors) and the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. Alternatively, the quaint picturesque town of Helmsley is a short drive and the historic city of York makes for a full day out. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

All on the ground floor.
Living room: With Freeview TV, DVD player, a selection of books and double sofa bed (for flexible sleeping arrangements).
Kitchen/dining area: With breakfast bar, electric cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer.
Bedroom: With kingsize bed.

Both properties: Biomass central heating, electricity by solar panels, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. External utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared). Gravelled courtyard with garden furniture (shared). Gas barbecue available on request. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Fabulous find - other members of our family were next door in the Byre and we all had a wonderful week despite the weather - grandson loved the trip round the farm to feed the animals and generally just a wonderful restful holiday with good pub/restuarant about 10-15 minute walk away. Wi-Fi excellent but no mobile signal which suited me.
