Good location for Scafall, and the north west lakes, not far from La'al Ratty Railway and Muncaster Castle, nearest shop at Gosforth, a great bakery there you must try it, the pies and sausage rolls are something else. Cottage was comfortable but the duster wouldn't go a miss, and there's no internet signal, be prepared to climb the nearest hill to use your phone. It's on the first floor with great views. I would recommend this cottage if your looking to go walking or climb Scafell.

Had initial issues with it smelling of dog and no cold water. But then was very relaxing and the view of the mountain and sheep was stunning. Some great walks nearby too. Had a good set of kitchen items, must couldn't find a chopping board.

We had a fantastic time in Wasdale view the only thing we struggled with was the telephone signal as our car had broken down and struggled to get hold of a garage. Other than that would recommend this cottage cant wait to come back.

A pleasant enough property, however could have been a little cleaner. The vacuum cleaner was not clean, and when used on departure smelt very strongly of 'old usage' it requires a compete clean and filter replacements, (or replacing) would not use it again next time we stay in June, having previously booked prior to our last stay. The biggest disappointment however were the beds. The mattresses on both beds are very uncomfortable and require replacing, they are obviously many years old and worn out! we could not in all honesty recommend Wasdale View taking into account the points raised! The location however is superb, and a saving grace!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are so sorry to learn of your experience with the mattresses in the bedrooms. We appreciate that a comfortable night’s sleep is essential to a good holiday. We will investigate your complaint & replace the mattresses if necessary. You may be interested to know that the main bedroom mattress was replaced exactly 5 years ago & bearing in mind that usage is limited to a few months a year it is relatively new. Our position is also complicated by the fact that our next holidaymaker described the beds as ‘nice & comfortable’. The vacuum cleaner you refer to was purchased in October 2015 & again with the limited use it gets we would have expected it to last for a few years yet. However in view of your comments we will ensure that it is working correctly & given a good clean.
