Wansbeck Cottage has been beautifully renovated in 2019, retaining charm and character from the beamed ceilings to the original doors but with the addition of a modern twist. The cosy living room has an inviting fireplace, housing a warming wood burner, to relax in front of on the cooler evenings. There is a modern well-equipped kitchen with a utility area to one end, while the dining area is set in a spacious garden room, where the light streams in through large glass windows. A stable door opens out onto an enclosed, private rear garden with a small front patio which enables guests to enjoy the sunshine all day long. There is a second garden, situated at the front of the property, with a summer house which is furnished allowing guests to sit in front of the stream and watch the world go by. There are stairs leading up to an amazing bedroom with vaulted, high ceilings making the room feel very spacious and quality linen is provided to ensure a good night’s sleep. Situated on a public bridleway, there are superb walking opportunities straight from the door, while just a 5-minute drive away is the centre of Scarborough.Scarborough is a popular and historic resort, offering two sandy bays, a long promenade and the ruins of Scarborough Castle perched high on the cliffs above. Stroll through the colourful ornamental gardens of Peasholm Park, visit the Rotunda Museum or have fun on the amusements. Culture lovers will be impressed by the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, which features excellent productions, or the large, open-air theatre which hosts many well-known bands. There are many excellent country pubs serving food within a 15-minute drive, as well as a wide range of restaurants in the town itself. A selection of amenities are also available within walking distance from the property including a shop, post office, chemist, two food serving pubs and a fish and chip takeaway.The surrounding countryside is well worth exploring, with its heather-clad moors, delightful coastal villages and wonderful network of footpaths and trails to follow. Altogether, Wansbeck Cottage is a superb base for a varied and interesting holiday at any time of the year. Beach 5¾ miles. Shop 1 mile, pub 300 yards and restaurant 4 miles.
