This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

This lovely cottage is ideal for either just relaxing and enjoying the views, or for touring the beautiful Morbihan region.

In a peaceful hamlet with superb views across the rolling local countryside, these traditional stone-built properties (refs FBM213 and FBM214), each with a private garden, are attractive and spacious and can be rented together for larger groups.
FBM213 is a terraced cottage with both the double bedroom and dining room having French windows opening onto a lawned area, while to the other side, the kitchen opens to a sheltered seating area. The living room, imaginatively situated on the first floor to benefit from a high ceiling complete with beams, as well as superb views and a wood burner, is a beautiful room for all seasons.
FBM214 is a traditional semi-detached holiday cottage with a cosy wood burner in the living room making it an ideal family destination all year round. The kitchen is attractive and practical, with an island unit linking the dining area.
The area is renowned for its picturesque rivers and pretty market towns, as well as the Nantes-Brest waterway. You can cycle, walk, fish, kayak or just sit in a tranquil rural setting. Drive along the quiet local roads to the heritage villages of Rochefort-en-Terre or Malestroit. The lake at Ploërmel is also within easy reach for a variety of watersports.
The beautiful fortified town of Vannes, gateway to the magnificent Gulf of Morbihan, is also within easy reach. Stroll around the cobbled streets, or visit one of the many islands, easily accessible by a short ferry trip.
Shop and restaurant 4km, beach 48km.

Approximate distance to Rennes airport is 70 km.

This is the best equipped gite we have stayed in and we have been holidaying in France for the last 12 years. Every saucepan had a lid, the hob and oven worked perfectly, we enjoyed our favourite programmes on UK TV at night and the countryside was both peaceful and tranquil. We must compliment Lynn for keeping the Gite so clean and ensuring everything was in working order. We enjoyed lovely lunches and evening meals in the local restaurants, "La Galette Rieuse" in Missiriac was outstanding for an evening while a lunch in "Le Relais du Marquis" in Saint-Marcel ensured we weren't hungry until next day. The local villages are immaculate and the countryside is a credit to the farming community. It was a pleasure to drive on roads without potholes.

A lovely upstairs lounge, but no blinds on veluxes nor shutters at windows so unbearably hot. Had to ask for a fan. Not suitable for a dog as the garden is not enclosed, and as the downstairs bedroom and dining room had French doors only, we couldn’t have them open for air as the dog would get out. There was a washing machine but nowhere to hang washing.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the agency; Thanks for the comments which we will bear in mind. It was exceptionally hot during your stay and, as a result, we agreed to buy a fan. The upstairs room has 3 velux windows and a door that can be opened so that should have allowed some breeze. It is true that the garden is not enclosed. That reflects the nature of the hamlet and you would be aware that the same applies to all the other local houses. Information about the house does not state that the garden is enclosed. Many of our guests have dogs and no one else has raised this issue.
