The Priory in Tynemouth hosts some musical events and plays, dating back centuries it sits on the cliff and can be seen from further afield. Only a few hundred yards is the restored Metro Station, which is nicknamed the Covent Garden of the North, is home to a very interesting weekend indoor market popular for all ages. You can hop on a metro here to Newcastle, take in the quayside or visit a theatre, gallery, and museum or enjoy the history and shopping.
