Yorkshire Cottages

The Yorkshire Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Yorkshire better!

Description

A romantic retreat for two with a double bedroom on a mezzanine floor with stunning views across the Esk valley.

If peace and tranquillity is what you are after then look no further. Valley View is situated in Beck Hole, one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets. The semi-detached cottage sits within the grounds of the owner’s home just a short walk from one of the smallest pubs in the UK, known for its traditional ales and warm friendly welcome. It has its own private courtyard with seating as well as a shared ‘recreational barn’ which includes a TV, pool table, gymnasium and sauna.

Beck Hole is located deep in the valley with the holiday cottage overlooking the village just a short stroll from the local pub. Stunning valleys and sweeping hillside views can be enjoyed from the idyllic location of the cottage. You could almost be anywhere in the world, close your eyes and listen to the silence interrupted only by bird song. Cycle tracks, bridle paths and walkways abound from the doorstep with quaint little villages popping up when you least expect it.

It is just one mile from the well-known village of Goathland best known for its connections with Heartbeat, indeed Hill Farm in which Valley View sits was used for many of the film shoots. The village green is lined with quaint curio shops, inns and tea rooms serving some of Yorkshire’s finest cuisine. You can board the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train here and take a memorable journey through the glorious Esk Valley as it steams its way across the valleys into the historic market town of Pickering. The ancient sea port of Whitby is just a short drive over the moors, eight miles, a colourful harbour leads to the three mile stretch of sandy beach overlooked and almost protected by the ancient abbey ruins and St Mary’s church. The brave (and fit) can take the 199 steps up to the abbey ruins where panoramic views over Whitby across to Sandsend can be enjoyed. Explore the smugglers coves of Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes or visit the more elegant seaside resort of Scarborough, Britain’s first ever seaside resort. It would take a lifetime to explore the delights on offer in this beautiful part of the world. With country shows and fairs throughout the summer you will be spoilt for choice. Or maybe just spend the day relaxing at home making use of the full gymnasium, sauna and games room all on offer here at Valley View.Shop 1 mile, pub 600 yards and restaurant 1 mile.

Beautifully appointed cottage in an idyllic setting, walking distance to a quirky little pub, a lovely 20 minute walk across the moors and under the railway to the lovely village of Goathland with little shops, two more pubs and the steam train to Pickering and half an hour from the picturesque Whitby, what more could you want? Ah yes a hot tub to soak in after a days walking and taking in the stunning scenery. This place hasn’t it all and Chris and Diane are lovely, warm welcoming hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. We’ve already booked to return in October to see the changing colours of Autumn, thanks for a lovely break!
