Just 10 miles between the cathedral city of Durham and the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne, this end terraced cottage is in the best possible spot for guests wanting to take just a short drive into the heart of many popular attractions. Very well furnished and extremely well presented throughout, guests will find themselves in a real home from home. On the ground floor is a comfortable living room with beams and coal-effect fire for those chilly winter evenings. The kitchen and dining area are also on the ground floor and are spacious and well equipped with all necessary appliances for your stay. The front of the cottage boasts an enclosed garden with table and chairs, and to the rear of the cottage is a private parking spot.
Ideally situated for a day out at Beamish Living World Museum, Urpeth Terrace is only 1 mile away, meaning active guests will be able to leave the car behind and stroll the short distance to the entrance. Perfect for walking and cycling, there are many public footpaths and cycle routes that pass through the open countryside of the village and on into the heart of County Durham. The famous, and very popular, Coast to Coast route runs only a few hundred metres away to the rear of the property too. For guests wanting to take part in the Great North Run each September, the Great North Road itself is only a little over 30 minutes drive away.
To the east of the cottage, head to the beautiful Durham Heritage Coast, with popular beaches including Roker Beach, which is only a short 30-minute drive away. To the north west, visitors will be able to explore the magnificent scenery and countryside of Northumberland, including the Northumberland National Park, Hadrian’s Wall and Kielder Water and Forest. With so many attractions and places to visit within an easy hours drive, this 19th-century cottage is perfect for guests of all ages and at any time of year. Shop 3 miles, pub 50 yards, restaurant ½ mile.

    The cottage was beautifully clean and well appointed. The showers were brilliant with plenty of hot water. The beds could have been a bit softer as I suffer with my back but I did manage to sleep. There was a pub next door and I was quite worried that late night drinkers would be noisy but I can honestly say that I didn't hear them.

    Great Cottage, clean and well presented. Spacious rooms and good garden, however slightly overlooked as its front located. Parking only for one car, down the narrow alley, but more available in the pub carpark next door. We didnt feel very comfortable with this, but had no choice! Great Bakery up the road and corner shop. All in all, we would visit again!
