Upton Bourn Lodge is incredibly light and airy due to the double height glass and bi-fold doors looking directly onto the garden and boasting views over the countryside. Boasting three reception rooms, plus a kitchen and utility room, with each room leading out into the garden with wraparound patios and paths. All rooms are open plan to create a truly sociable environment, and the kitchen is fully equipped for a large group with a range cooker, two dishwashers, an extra oven and microwave. Granite worktops and maple inlaid units also make cooking a delight. The lounge offers a wood burner to keep warm in the colder months, and a superb surround sound Smart TV/audio system. To keep everyone entertained, Upton Bourn Lodge also features an E Glass fronted games room complete with pool table and table football.
Outside, you can enjoy relaxing in your own private heated pool (open April to October), hot tub and large sauna (hot tub and sauna all year), visit the larger shared heated pool set in a walled garden (open May to September), or play table tennis, croquet, rounders, football and more in the shared grounds. All four bedrooms in the main house are en-suite, with high quality mattresses, guaranteeing you will have a great night’s sleep and feel refreshed in the morning. All the bedrooms are large and can be configured into almost any mix of singles and doubles, with two in the smaller detached Spring Barn which is a stone’s throw away. Within an hour you can visit two coasts, the towns of Bristol and Bath, Stonehenge, Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge and undiscovered villages like Somerton and Langport with their fantastic local shops and cafes. The Barn is located in the picturesque village of Long Sutton with its blue lias houses, a church, pub and shop located around the village green. Within one mile there are two other pubs, one being regarded as the best in Somerset.
Within 20 minutes you can visit Glastonbury with its Tor, Abbey and unusual shops and restaurants, Street with its factory outlet shopping, several wildlife sanctuaries, Langport, Somerton, multiple National Trust houses and open gardens, Haynes Motor Museum, The Fleet Air Arm Museum and more. The area is also full of local cider farms that can be visited(and sampled) as well as a farm shop within a mile, a local smokery and several local butchers, greengrocers and delis. There is parking for six cars at the house and more can be arranged if required. There is also a Berrys bus from London that stops five minutes away, and nearest train stations are Castle Cary (20 mins), Yeovil (25 mins) and Taunton (30 mins).
