Perfect place to get away from everything. Need a car to get to shops etc. I will be returning to venture again. Went with my poorly grandad and the facilities were perfect for him. Shower room, downstairs bedroom and a ramp to the door.

The directions were complicated and even though we were told that sat-nav would take us to the wrong location, we managed to get hopelessly lost. It took us nearly an hour; driving down wet narrow cart tracks in rapidly declining light, before we found the entrance. It was on the main road and we had passed it a couple of times , on both sides and it was obvious when you found it; but a more detailed local map would have been appreciated. The cottage itself was excellent and I would certainly book again; It was well furnished and the beds were warm and comfortable. Unfortunately, it rained every day we were there, but there was lots to see and do. The local town, Kirkintollach is only a few miles down the road and has several supermarkets, a lovely canal walk and plenty restaurants and pubs. Glasgow is a 40 minute drive and there was plenty of parking near Kelvingrove Park and museum. Loch Lomond and the Summerlee Heritage Centre are worth seeing and all are free. The cottage is in the grounds of an estate and there are several walks around the area but disappointingly, because of the rain, it was too slippery to explore them. The owners were very helpful when I had some trouble with my car on the last day and I am grateful to them. In all, I would have no hesitation in reccomending this delightful cottage.

A lovely cottage in a great location, just off the main road, but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere when at the cottage, peaceful, beautiful and quiet, very relaxing! Cottage was spacious and comfortable and would definitely recommend, very close to Glasgow and about and hour or so to Edinburgh.

We had a lovely time at the lodge and it suited our family perfectly (2 boys, 4yo and 8mo). The rooms are spacious and the full cot in the master bedroom was great. This is a converted bungalow so only the master bedroom is upstairs (+ensuite), but our 4yo loved having his own room downstairs and used the spare room (our 8mo was in with us) as his own private dressing room; he could easily come up to find us in the morning if he wanted. The area around is limited, as there's a fair drive off the main road to the cottage, but the huge garden (field?) out the front was great for games and running around. The cottage was well looked after and the high ceiling downstairs in the open lounge/kitchen/diner made it feel much larger than it was. We really like this cottage and it suited us perfectly for trips to Loch Lomond, Stirling, Glasgow and Falkirk; the train to Edinburgh was an option but we ran out of time - next time! Really friendly owner too who swapped the bedding for us (from feather; I have allergies) without any problems. Will definitely keep this in mind again if we come back to Scotland.

Quiet location, we saw dear, hare and rabbits. There is a stream bordering the property which means it may not be suitable for families with small children. Have been twice to this lodge and twice to its neighbouring cottage the Pavilions. We will definitely stay here again especially as we have family nearby.

I would recommend the Lodge without reservation. The property was presented in a spotless condition with clean and fresh linen. We wanted for nothing. We found the property spacious and comfortable considering our group was made up of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We were warm and toasty in late October and hot water was plentiful. I would most definitely return.
