Take a boat trip ride from the tranquil harbour to the offshore island of Caldey and visit the Celtic Monastery and Cistercian Monks who have made it a holy island for hundreds of years. Away from the coast, Pembrokeshire’s rolling countryside is just as promising and is dotted with numerous majestic sites waiting to be explored including Carew, Manorbier and Pembroke Castles, as well as the magnificent 12th Century cathedral and ruins of Bishops Palace, tucked away peacefully towards the north of the county at Britain’s smallest city of St Davids. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Plenty of parking. It was quiet and peaceful. It is well placed for visiting areas of interest like Bosherston, St David's and Tenby to name 3. Being on the outskirts of a small village, the local amenities were limited although there is a local pub/restaurant and the attractive, sandy beach is nearby with easy access to the miles of coastal paths. A petrol station with shop is just over a mile away. As an older couple, we were looking for a quiet, comfortable and peaceful place to stay where we could chill out but have access to places to visit on reasonable roads (some of the local roads are very narrow!) and Upper Old Farmhouse fulfilled all our requirement.
