From its elevated, secluded position, ’Up Yonder’ offers the ideal rural location from which to explore all aspects of Wigtownshire and the south west corner of Scotland. The village of Glenluce, with its pub, shop and abbey, is conveniently only a 5-minute walk away. The panoramic view from the upstairs living room balcony with its table and chairs looks out across Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway, and is a fabulous spot for relaxing while watching the sun setting.
With close proximity to transport links, it makes touring all the region’s beautiful countryside and attractions accessible. These include the Rhinns of Galloway and Machars Peninsulas, with their lighthouses, wealth of culture, art, book and music festivals, historic buildings, wildlife and renowned gardens. A short distance inland is the Galloway Forest which offers exceptional walking and cycling opportunities while those nocturnally inclined, can experience the wonders of Britain’s premier Dark Sky Park. Sporting opportunities abound with river, loch and sea fishing and many fine golf courses within easy reach, Wigtownshire County Course being only a mile away.
Wigtownshire boasts a number of ambient small ports such as Portpatrick, Port William, Sandhead and Isle of Whithorn which are all only a short drive away. Stranraer and Newton Stewart offer a more varied shopping experience, while the Solway and Ayrshire coasts with their multitude of attractions are easily reached. A 20-minute drive from the property reaches the port of Cairnryan where regular ferries offer a day trip to Belfast and Northern Ireland.
The property is easily accessed directly from your car to the front door via a ramp. Situated beside the parking area is a large bike store.
