Lovely location but the cottage was grubby in areas. The bedding felt slightly damp. The mattresses on the bunk beds were very uncomfortable with the springs being felt.

Response on behalf of the owner; I am sorry to hear you felt the cottage was grubby in areas, it is a shame you chose not to contact me during your stay so we could have addressed these issues for you. Our feedback is normally very good for the cleanliness of the cottage. I will certainly be following these comments up with our housekeeper. With regards the bunk beds, this is the first time anyone has made any comment about them being uncomfortable, they are not very old. I will look to invest in some mattress toppers to improve the comfort. We have recently replaced the mattress in the master bedroom.

Lovely cottage and great value for money when we stayed. We visited to do the local Zipworld activities, so the location was great for us - however, there wasn't a huge amount to do locally other than that so would depend what sort of holiday you were after. Plenty of nice dog walks if you've got a car. There's a local Co-op within 5 mins that supplied all we required for a weekend. Other than that the closest supermarket is 13 miles away! The owner's communication was great and was very helpful and flexible; allowing us to bring our 3 well behaved pooches which was so appreciated. Nice secure garden for them, although very steep with a rocky path up and no barriers so wouldn't be ideal for children or energetic dogs needing a good run around. Lights to the top would be good addition. The cottage was clean and tidy and the heating pre-programmed which was great and always warm at the right times. Shower was great too, towels provided, beds comfy, Sky on downstairs TV - surprisingly very spacious. The cottage is on a VERY busy road, extra care needed with dogs/children as the parking space is outside the cottage essentially on the pavement. The neighbours moaned to us about having parked 0.5m too far back but that's no reflection on this cottage - I think they were also guests anyway. The only things that would have been handy would have been condiments such as salt and pepper and perhaps a little carton of milk as we arrived late, plus enough toilet roll haha! Overall a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed - would return if visiting the area again - thank you

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks very much for the very detailed feedback on our cottage. I'm sorry there was no milk, this must have been an oversight as our housekeeper usually puts a pint in the fridge for each incoming set of guests. With regards the area, amenities and tourists options being in a rural location you do have to be prepared to travel a bit further afield than in a city, but this comes from being located in the national park. There's plenty of museums, castles, beaches and other activities all within an hours drive of the cottage. We're certainly not short of a multitude of different walks for all abilities right from the front door.
