Just spent a brilliant week in Tystie cottage. Great value for money. Inside was even better than it looked in the photos. Everything you could need with an incredible shop just across the road. An excellent place to tour in every direction. Loved the rocks and crashing waves at the end of the Mull of Galloway with the RSPB reserve and the Logan Botanic Garden is a must. Again much better than expected, a treasure of trees and plants and a great cafe with lots of cakes! Thank you Jonathan for our stay.

This is a great cottage - comfortable and cosy, conveniently located for the local shop, the dog friendly village bar and restaurant, and the beach which is just a minute away across the road. The owners provided a lovely welcome pack of dog food and treats which were unexpected but very much appreciated. We were lucky enough to have some lovely sunny weather during our stay. The cottage has a good sized, secure garden which gets a good amount of sun around lunchtime - my only real criticism is that the garden furniture and particularly the garden parasol are is urgent need of a spring clean therefore we felt unable to make use of the outdoor space.

A fabulous clean and cosy cottage in a perfect location very close to the beach. Having 2 elderly dogs who love water but now can't walk far, they were in their element. There is everything you need to cook within the cottage, there is a dog bowl and spot cleaners incase of any mishaps, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and most importantly, biscuits on arrival. Garden is fully enclosed and an ideal size for my 2 plodding Labradors. I actually fell in love with the cottage and area. Local shop stocks everything you need, there are supermarkets a short drive away, if needed. Local attractions are not too far to drive to, highly recommend Mull of Galloway lighthouse, cafe on site with lovely cakes, also a lovely short walk from roadside parking to the Kirkmadrine Stones. Met plenty of friendly folk on the beach. We will be back.

A good base near a great beach. Although dog friendly, there was a worry when one of my dogs ran out of the front door and onto the busy road, when throwing a bug outside and I do think that is a drawback to taking dogs, due to the door opening straight onto the busy road. Very nice meals at the restaurant a couple of doors down the street and the dogs were allowed in the bar area. WiFi was very slow and I didn’t get a phone signal.
