Enjoy a delicious meal at the Michelin-starred restaurant, just 300 yards away, or take a scenic journey on the Llangollen Railway.

Imagine relaxing in your own hot tub, strolling along a footpath to a Michelin-starred restaurant for dinner, relaxing with a glass of wine in front of the wood burner, or simply gazing out at the stunning views over the valley. You can do it all at Ty’n y Ffridd! One of Wales’ finest restaurants, Tyddyn Llan, is just over the fields providing an unforgettable dining experience, whilst there are further places to eat and pubs within walking distance down in the delightful village of Llandrillo.

Ty’n y Ffridd itself is a lovely, detached holiday cottage which features oak beams and has been finished to an excellent standard. There is even a downstairs bedroom, really handy if you want everything on one floor. There are walks from the door, and the adventurous members of your party might want to try the nearby adventure activities such as a high ropes course, paintballing or white water rafting. There is loads to do too at nearby Bala, with Bala Lake being Wales’ largest natural lake, and the town itself offering a selection of eateries, plus a trip along the lakeshore on the Bala Lake Railway.

In the other direction is Corwen, home of an award-winning farm shop and bistro. Corwen is also the terminus of the Llangollen Railway, which offers a scenic trip by steam train through the Dee Valley to Llangollen, home of the annual International Musical Eisteddfod, which attracts competitors and visitors from all over the world. You can also hop on a horse-drawn canal trip on the Llangollen Canal or visit the atmospheric ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey. Beach 35 miles. Shop and pub ¾ mile, restaurant 300 yards.

We stayed here for three nights over the New Year, there were six adults, one baby and a dog! The house is really lovely and kept to a high standard...especially the hot tub, which we throughly enjoyed whilst seeing the New Year in! The beds were incredibly comfy and the house was toasty warm, especially with the added touch of the stunning log fire. The village is about a 12 minute walk away and the beautiful views make it a pleasure. It is however a fairly steep incline on the return walk, which some may find difficult depending on their ability. The pub in the village was great, very welcoming and dog friendly, but besides that there’s pretty much nothing else! Overall, we had a fantastic New Year and would absolutely return.
