Brilliantly located to offer equitable access down either side of Snowdon as well as being within 10 mins of Caernafon and Anglesey. House is lovely, well equipped great size and perfect for dogs. Contrary to some reviews - the neighbours are really friendly and there is ample parking.

We stayed at Ty Llyffant for the summer half term holiday, a family party of seven (parents, grandparents and children). The setting is amazing - remote, peaceful and beautiful - just what we needed escaping from London. The weather was also very good, which was a bonus. Facilities inside were good and were all that we needed. Wifi worked fine (passed the teenager test). Good size garden (with bats to watch). We read some slightly critical reviews before going, but our sense was that these reviews were elevating minor issues over the general splendidness of the venue. Yes, you can only have one of the two showers on at a time, but this just needs coordinating (and the owners make this clear in advance). There is a very large lounge on the first floor which works well for group socializing. The kitchen / dining area downstairs is great for (extended) family meals. The beds were comfortable - no-one had any complaints. You are not many miles from Caernarfon (Welsh Highland Railway), Llanberis, and the beaches of Anglesey are not a long drive away (and quite a discovery for us). ZipWorld, if that's your thing, is in the vicinity (but book!) Mountains to climb as well of course. There is a Spar in the local village, Llanrug, that has quite extended opening hours. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and once we left we got back in touch with the owners to find out about future availability.
