Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, the barn oozes character including exposed beams, stonework and many original features. The owners, who live close by, have furnished and presented this spacious holiday home beautifully and it also enjoys views of open meadows and of Myndd Troed. Ty Gwilym is very conveniently situated, tucked away from the main village but with two pubs within a very short walking distance. Its doorstep amenities, as well as peace and quiet make it the perfect holiday base with lots of activities and attractions nearby.
Llangorse lies in the crook of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. With its stunning lake and breathtaking scenery, it’s a perfect setting for both the very active and those who prefer a more gentle and relaxing holiday. In high season, the lake offers fishing, rowing boats, canoe and kayak hire, while the Llangorse Activity Centre offers climbing, sky trekking and horse riding. A walker’s haven; public footpaths lead directly from Ty Gwilym and within easy driving distance, there are more challenging walks such as Offa’s Dyke, Pen y Fan, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Hay Bluff.
Ty Gwilym Barn is a peaceful retreat central to a wide variety of cultural and outdoor pursuits that the area is famous for. The major festivals at Hay-on-Wye, Brecon and Abergavenny are all within easy reach. Shop 3 miles, pub 200 yards.

Ty Gwilym is really lovely and cake, milk and other little extras were appreciated. I have only marked it down because of the bathrooms. Having only 1 shower for 6 people may be a problem for some families. This property has a wow factor and is very cosy and comfortable also the beds were comfortable. The area offers a great deal although disappointed with the local pub.

Very comfortable barn conversion. It would benefit from the addition of a tumble dryer given the typical weather in the Brecon Beacons! Also refrigeration a little inadequate for six guests, fortunately only two of us so we managed. We will look to return as the house felt very comfortable and welcoming.

Beautiful, spacious, well appointed property in a fantastic rural location, within 10-15 minutes drive to Brecon. We stayed with 2 young children who were equally impressed with the games and DVDs on offer. The beds in the twin room and master bedroom were comfortable (didnt use other room) and we had plenty of towels and (reuseable) bottled water in each room. The upstairs bathroom, shower room and downstairs toilet were all very good too. The open plan living and kitchen area is the full size of the property, with ample seating and a lovely (gas) log burner. It's a wonderful space to be in. We will definitely be returning.

Really lovely cottage in a quiet rural location, ideal for families or groups wanting to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property was immaculately presented and very clean, the owner was discrete but also happy to offer help or advice if needed. If I had to suggest anything that could improve the house it would be to have a second shower in the second bathroom, but this is an observation not a criticism. Overall an excellent holiday let for this part of the world.
