Lovely quiet quayside location in cosy comfortable and well equipped cottage. Exceeded our expectations. Some minor issues but generally a very good holiday

The cottage was fine just a bit too small for us - not the cottage’s fault! My only issue was with things like the hoover which didn’t work and the washer/dryer which was very inefficient. Otherwise it was all good

The cottage is situated in the centre which is very good. The cottage itself has most of the equipment you need. The beds creaked, none of the doors upstairs closed easy, they needed a good oiling. The shower room was very tiny, they had a mat on the floor which you had to remove to open the door, no fan in the bathroom. Some of the small towels looked worse for wear. Downstairs the chairs were very grubby, not what I personally would expect. All looked very charity shop furnishings. We arrived at 3pm after a six hour drive to find the cleaner still in the premises, she had been told no-one was in the cottage that week. We returned again at 4pm the lady was just finishing off but all the floors were wet so it was very difficult to settle in. We had booked the cottage for four adults, no-one said it was only really suitable for two adults and two children. As it happened it was only two of us, a couple were poorly.

Great location to explore Wells and the local area. Facilities were ideal for our short stay. Pet friendly so great for our dogs to walk around local amenities and open spaces.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. Very centrally located with all the amenities you could wish for. Will definitely visit again as we love Wells.

Lovely cottage. Great for shops, beach and walking to Stiffkey. A good all round location especially if you have a dog as the fields are just a quick walk away. Unfortunately for us our dog barks a lot which upset the next door neighbours (they were very nice about it but asked us to politely reduce the barking in a morning) (apparently the walls are very thin). I would stay there again, but would need to bring a muzzle for our pooch. I've not had a complaint from a neighbour before, and we've stayed in a few cottages in Wells Next the Sea with the same barking pooch. So the cottage maybe best suited for quiet dogs only. Having said that, its a lovely cottage to stay in. And our pooch does have a loud bark!

A lovely cottage but could not turn the underfloor heating off despite turning the dial to zero by the front door - my dog was permanently panting which is not normal A great location but over priced for what it is Unsuitable for toddlers not that I have any General comment over priced

Great location, the cottage itself could do with updating, it was very dirty , had to clean when we arrived, dust hanging from extractor fan it was disgusting , ate out as the cutlery and crockery were grubby . No handbook available to refer to , tried to contact the owner how to turn off the under floor heating as it was the hottest day of the year so far , no reply or returned call from them . Parking was awful , no where to sit out , but in description states a space to sit out.

Only thing that we missed was having somewhere to eat outside.

The cottage is really charming and is tastefully decorated, with everything you would need. It was always a pleasure to return after a day out.

We love Wells and come down every school holiday and have stayed in many cottages. The cottage location is perfect being close to the centre of Wells with its shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. Although the cottage has seen some upgrades it still needs more work. Some of the pans need changing as they were burnt and the extractor hood was covered in fluff. The cottage needs another sofa as the chairs are uncomfortable to sit on especially if you want to relax after a long walk. When the weather is bad you need these home comforts more than when it’s sunny. The standard lamp gave a shock when turned on, so we didn’t use it and the table lamp has no plug. It also states no dogs upstairs but there is nothing to prevent this as there is no stair gate. The information booklet also needs updating as it dates back to 2011. This might seem picky but would not cost a lot to do and first impressions matter. Unfortunately there was building work going on at the cottage next door which started at 8 until 4, something I know can’t be helped but did spoil our stay.
