This beautiful house is perfect for families or groups of friends, close to Talisker distillery and inn serving food.

Trien Lodge is a spacious, detached and well-equipped holiday house, furnished to a very good standard to ensure a great holiday experience. Just 1½ miles from the coastal village of Carbost on the Minginish Peninsula, with stunning views over Loch Harport and the Cuillin, Trien Lodge is convenient for reaching the village where you have a shop/post office, Talisker distillery, Skye’s only distillery, and an inn which serves food all day and has regular live music. The walking is superb for all levels– Talisker Bay, Glenbrittle Beach, Fairy Pools and the Cuillin for the experienced climbers and so much more. A trip to Dunvegan Castle and the coral beach, Neist Point Lighthouse or the beautiful Waternish peninsula are all recommended and are all on the west side of the island. Portree, the bustling main town, is where you can take a stroll down to the harbour and watch the fishing vessels unload their catch of the day. Take a sea trip from Portree to see the varied sea and bird life and also enjoy the beauty of the rugged coastline. To the north of Portree, is the Trotternish Peninsula, which boasts some of Skye’s most stunning scenery. To the south of the island is Broadford, where you will find ‘The Garden of Skye’. Here you can visit the ruins of Armadale Castle and its lovely gardens. Skye has so much to offer in the way of outdoor pursuits with kayaking, pony trekking, boat trips, fishing and angling available. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and wonderfully situated on Skye. However the dining table is too small for the number of people the cottage sleeps. Meal times were cramped. This was a shame as the dining room could easily accommodate an appropriately sized table. Also, there was no handwash provided in any of the bathrooms. This is not acceptable for a cottage of this price (particularly as it is situated a good few miles from a suitable shop).

We arrived at the cottage and found everything as described. Comfortable furniture, modern kitchen and bathrooms. Even a wine cooler, a first in any cottage we have stayed in. We love Skye and would go back to Trien Lodge again without hesitation.

The cottage is quite close to the loch and overlooks a high tide wader roost on a saltmarsh. We saw Greenshank, Whooper Swan and Goosanders from the cottage. As quite a few reviewers have pointed out, this cottage is not in Carbost but 1.5 miles south of the village on the outskirts of Satran. This is a very well appointed cottage and was a warm and comfortable retreat from the autumn weather.

We had a wonderful stay at Trien Lodge. A very spacious and extremely clean house with everything that is required for a rental. We all had a large airy room with our own ensure. Beautiful scenery all around. The only downside for us was the garden was not fenced in so we weren't able to let our two small dogs out to run around safely. Also although the road at the bottom of the garden was a single track with passing places, it could still be quite busy so we had nowhere to safely walk with the dogs. Sadly some drivers seemed to think they were on a motorway so there was no chance of walking over to Carbost safely which is approx a mile and a half walk.

Super house in a lovely location, slightly further from Carbost than expected - about a 30 min walk. We had a fabulously comfortable stay. Clean, cosy and well equipped.

A high spec, well cared for holiday cottage under friendly and co-operative management. Our party of 6, two couples and two singles, had lots of room to avoid getting in each other's way.
