We absolutely loved the cottage. The hosts were lovely. We had no problems other than the WiFi wasn't really working. I only searched for cottages with WiFi but the unreliability of WiFi was not mentioned on the website. We were only informed of this with the confirmation of booking. Although the lack of WiFi did not make a huge difference on the holiday as we spent quality time with family and friends, I would have liked to have known the issue before. Overall I had a lovely time and tintagel is a really quiet and peaceful place.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry you had problems with the Wi-fi. We have not been aware of any problems previously with it. If we had been made aware of this problem during your stay I am sure we could have fixed it for you. We are pleased that overall you enjoyed staying at our lovely cottage.

Pre-Easter week 2018: Exactly our kind of cottage and location as we seek peaceful and relaxing breaks away. Near a local road, the cottage was nevertheless quiet due to it's mid-terrace layout and good windows. Light sleepers note; you may need earplugs in warmer weather, when sleeping with open windows. Arriving after a long cold Winter and no immediate previous occupants, meant the cottage was extremely cold for the first two days. There is an open fire, albeit it took some coaxing to get going. TIP: Use coal not the larger logs on this type of open hearth fire (as opposed to the metal wood burner types which have a better air draught control system). On two attempts the relatively large logs eventually charred out. I almost went out and bought an axe to split the logs in half. A tip from the owner and we switched to copious amounts of coal to get some heat going. TIP: Don't skip on the kindling and use one of those fire logs for a sure fire start. Also, use loads of coal for a decent amount of heat ;) There weren't any coal tongs so we improvised some. We also noted the fire-guard handle was missing. Worth a quick check as it's easy to chuck a log on but you will need to place coal on carefully at first - not easy without tongs. Given we arrived as notified on our second day, as agreed, we felt a 'cold start' cottage was an oversight by our hosts who had taken care of most other details, like a welcome pack and complimentary initial fire material. Knowing the cottage had been empty for a while, perhaps they should have made sure the place wasn't so cold prior to our arrival. It really was that cold inside, (and outside this 2017/2018 winter). True, there was a supplementary Electric heater, (which was on a timer), and later the unbeknown to us, missing second heater from upstairs was passed back to us - albeit a bit too late the next day. By this time we'd got the fire coals roaring. It must be said that most strange was that there was plenty of modern central heating throughout the cottage which wasn't set high enough for us by the owners - so really no heating affect - that is given the fact how bitter cold it still was outside those last days of March 2018. It would have been great to have some control over the settings as there's nothing worse than asking for things like the central heating to be constantly adjusted, (by non-occupants). There's no adjustment for the central heating in the cottage itself and the initial one electric heater just wasn't enough to warm both floors. Eventually by day three we'd settled in, warmed the place up enough to enjoy the cottage and our break. On reflection: We couldn't help feeling that those first two days feeling cold just took the edge off a really great cottage break week away. I guess it all goes to show just how long and cold the Winter has been. Lastly: Would we go back in cold weather? Yes. Now we know it's best to use copious amounts of coal and not the logs - unlike other places we've stayed, where we've always used and do prefer, logs ;) - Overall a cosy and quiet cottage. Thank you. NB Yes we could have asked for some help but there's nothing better than muddling through and maintaining our privacy - (in our book anyway). Feedback - proactive not reactive wins the day for the guests.

Really lovely cottage. Close to coastal path, Tintagel castle and village. Only used the car once to buy shopping. The owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful and the cottage is well equipped for a home from home holiday. We had a lively break and would recommend it.

Lovely cottage, a real home from home. It was very cold when we stayed but the extra heaters and open fire worked well to keep us comfortable. Beautiful views and nice location.
