Tresooth Cottages is a delightful development of sixteen holiday properties comprising seven converted stone dairy barns around a central courtyard, three more traditional stone cottages and a terrace of six more modern, duplex properties.
Just 4 miles from the busy port and town of Falmouth, 2 miles from the beautiful village of Mawnan Smith and just under 20 minutes’ drive from the city of Truro, it is an ideal base to explore the local area. With some of the UK’s best beaches, water sports galore, a harbour and a thriving restaurant scene, the Falmouth area is one of the UK’s most sought-after holiday destinations.
Just beyond Mawnan Smith is the Helford Passage and river, a wonderful spot to have lunch in the Ferryboat Inn gazing at the estuary. There are several boat trips to enjoy as well as the oldest running ferry service in the UK to cross the river for a walk around the picture postcard village of Helford.
Falmouth itself boasts a prestigious marina and harbour, attracting visitors all year round with a busy calendar of events including prestigious sailing events, food and music festivals. Events Square is home to a large selection of restaurants, bars, and cafés, a stone’s throw from the National Maritime Museum. For those wanting a little bit of history, go and explore the artillery fort at Pendennis built in the 16th Century, great for walking and watching the various events that are held there.
We are spoilt with our fantastic beaches close by Maenporth, Swanpool, Gyllyngvase & Castle, all child friendly and very different, you will soon find your favourite! Enjoy the water sports on offer, the local Cornish pasty, and the cream teas. If you are an avid gardener then you must visit Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick, spend a relaxing day wandering around, enjoy lunch at the cafés before going back to enjoy the hot tub and sauna. High speed Wi-Fi has been installed throughout the site.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 64 guests.

This place is quiet, safe for kids and dogs alike. A little tranquil oasis. Not far from Falmouth or Truro and not that far from any beaches though you will need a car for this. Our cottage was comfortable and clean. The kitchen part was a little on the small side, had all the mod cons, i.e washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer. The fridge freezer was of a very good size, which came handy as I take my dog food frozen with me and everything fitted in there neatly. In terms of crockery, cutlery and cooking pots: Brilliant knife blog, but only one cutting board and limited cooking pots, so difficult to cook more than basic meals. Mugs and plates OK but not enough to fill the dishwasher, so we ended up washing everything by hand… Vacuum was a sturdy Henry, which is sort of OK as they are reliable but a pain in the bum when it comes to removing dog hair. So I spent some time keeping the place as tidy as it looked when came in. Beds were comfortable, with bunk beds for kids (which we did not need to use). The surroundings are stunningly beautiful and there was a lovely pond right in front of our cottage. There was a Jacuzzi, a swimming pool (not in use from 1. October onwards), and a games room that provided some WiFi. No WiFi in the cottages for the WiFi fanatics. Overall I would recommend these holiday cottages.
