This idyllic part of south Cornwall has much to offer visitors, including a picturesque coastal walk leading to St Anthony Head, with its superb views of Falmouth and the Black Rock. St Mawes itself abounds with restaurants, pubs and shops, and its clover-leaf shaped castle, built by Henry VIII, is well worth a visit. In summer there are boat trips up the river, passing through beautiful wooded creeks. There is a 2-acre paddock available for guests to use, ideal for ball games and dog exercising. Shops 6 miles, pub, the famous Roseland Inn, ½ mile.
The Long Barn (GW2) and The Granary (GW3) can be booked together to accommodate up to 6 guests.

The accommodation was spotless. The location for us was ideal as we wanted to be in a remote and quiet place. It is not suited to anyone without a car nor anyone nervous of driving down narrow lanes. The nearest major town is Truro which is easily accessible across the King Harry Ferry (£8 return). Apart from the local pub in Philleigh there are no other immediately available facilities. There are other facilities in the local towns and villages. The food in the local pub is excellent. If it is a beach holiday you are after there are just a few easily accessible beaches on the Peninsular. There are so many attractions to visit if you like stunning scenery, gardens and stately homes. It helps with car parking if you are a National Trust Member otherwise on any of their sites expect to pay £5.

This is my third visit in the last year so you can tell that I really like the Granary. The cottage is located in a beautiful rural setting yet close to St Mawes and the ferry to Falmouth. I enjoy coastal path walking with my dog and the Roseland Peninsula is perfect with the lack of crowds and unspoilt villages by the sea. I will come back again next year.

My husband & I plus our 2 cockers spaniels had a superb 10 days in this quaint cottage. It was our home away from home & had everything we needed to make our stay most enjoyable. Our boys 🐾🐾 were able to roam outside safely & interact with Sasha, the owners Springer. It was lovely to be able to choose between a bath or shower. My only one problem was the sofa which was quite low & because I have hip & knee replacements this made it quite difficult for me to get up easily. The bed was so so comfortable, wish we could have taken it home with us. Thank you.

Th Granary was perfect for our holiday with our dogs, it was warm and cosy to come home to after days out on our October holiday. The owners were very welcoming to both us and our pets.

We had a lovely. relaxing holiday in a peaceful and beautiful surrounding. We only missed WIFI sometimes and had to check on our emails in a hotel in St Mawes. But that was not a big issue for us.
