Description

In an idyllic part of South Cornwall set within an AONB, just 6 miles from St Mawes and a short drive to beaches.

Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, high on the Roseland Landscape, these two converted barns (refs GW2 and GW3) afford spacious ground floor holiday accommodation, with commanding views across the countryside. Situated just 6 miles from St Mawes, they are 1 mile from a golden sandy beach and a short drive from many other beautiful beaches. Although completely self-contained, they may be booked together. The renowned Philliegh Cookery School is close by and a great experience. This idyllic part of south Cornwall has much to offer visitors, including a picturesque coastal walk leading to St Anthony Head, with its superb views of Falmouth and the Black Rock. St Mawes itself abounds with restaurants, pubs and shops, and its clover-leaf shaped castle, built by Henry VIII, is well worth a visit. In summer there are boat trips up the river, passing through beautiful wooded creeks. There is a 2-acre paddock available for guests to use, ideal for ball games and dog exercising. Shops 6 miles, pub, the famous Roseland Inn, ½ mile.
The Long Barn (GW2) and The Granary (GW3) can be booked together to accommodate up to 6 guests.

We had a lovely. relaxing holiday in a peaceful and beautiful surrounding. We only missed WIFI sometimes and had to check on our emails in a hotel in St Mawes. But that was not a big issue for us.

We very much enjoyed staying at The Granary on the Roseland Peninsula. The owners, Graham and Nicky, were lovely people and very helpful.

The Granary is a lovely cottage set in beautiful rural surroundings. Nicky and Graham, the owners, were very helpful and informative throughout my stay in the cottage. The cottage is an ideal base if you have a dog and enjoy coastal path walking. The Roseland Peninsula is a hidden gem in Cornwall, it has some quiet and unspoilt, traditional coastal villages which lack any sort of commercial tourist attractions. I have recommended the area and cottage to several friends and I will definitely be visiting again to complete my coastal path walking.

A wonderful, relaxed country break. The setting is very rural, extremely narrow lanes with occasional passing places, beautiful scenery but bear in mind the nearest shop is in St Mawes, a 10 to 15 minute drive away, so don't forget to bring basic provisions! The Granary is well equipped and comfortable in lovely, well kept grounds. The owners, Nicky & Graham, live onsite and gave us some excellent advice on good places to visit. A dog friendly beach is a 10 minute drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long break and the tranquillity of the countryside. We would definitely return to the Granary.
