These pet friendly holiday barns are situated less than half a mile from the stunning north coast of Cornwall. The access is via a typical Cornish narrow road with beautiful scenic views of the sea peeping out through the hedgerow on approach. In the heart of this small Cornish hamlet, the barns (refs 30108, 30109, 30110 and 30111) are furnished and fitted to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer. Each barn has a well-equipped kitchen and TV in the main bedrooms, as well as open-plan living. Each has its own sitting-out area, which is ideal for watching the wildlife and al fresco dining. Guests are close to the coastal path and if you walk north, you will reach Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further on, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour is a must. A small beach can be reached on foot, approximately ½ mile away. Travelling down the coast, guests will come to Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ is filmed, and further down the coast, visit the beautiful sandy surfing beach at Polzeath and the dunes at Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow. From Padstow, with its working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants, you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. Close by is Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, and for walkers the tors on the moor are a must. Further down the coast is Newquay, with its famous surfing beaches, Blue Reef Aquarium and Zoo and if you travel to the south coast, you will find Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey, just a few of the charming coastal villages. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a cycle hub at Lanhydrock, with some wonderful forest routes to be taken. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

The cottage was lovely, bit dated but very clean. Bed was comfortable. Heating came on three days throughout the day so was always warm. There is a big armchair in the bedroom which served no purpose at all, a chest of drawers would be a much better addition. The hot water tap in the kitchen was just a trickle, so took ages to fill a bowl just enough to wash up cups. Nice outside space, secure for our little dog to have a wander and do his business. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t sit out but would definitely go again.

Excellent location to get away from it all. The cottage has everything you need with a very comfortable bed and the cleanliness is immaculate. The lovely touches of the towel for muddy paws, water bowl, little treats and holiday identity tags for the dog was brilliant, and even a small bottle of milk so you can make a cuppa on arrival. The dog was immediately comfortable and made herself at home. Yes, the Siri is a bit rubbish and the phone signal is as expected for a remote place, but you’re there to relax so it’s really not an issue. The walk down to Tregardock Beach was lovely, and whilst it maybe a little trek to get there the view is stunning and well worth it! Yes it’s away from local amenities but if you’ve done your homework you’re aware of the remoteness, which was perfect for us. Can recommend the fish shop in Delabole! Due to an issue with the car we were late leaving but Fiona and Sue, who clean the cottages, were amazing and so helpful, allowing us to stay. Whilst my husband went to get the part required, I was made to feel so welcome and looked after, including feeding and watering. Will I book again? Definitely. Fantastic cottage, amazing location and just what is needed for a complete break away to de-stress.
