Fantastic cottage with stunning sea views. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We had fabulous weather and spent lots of time on the beautiful large decked balcony which has been enlarged and refurbished since the website picture was taken and now has glass panels rather than wooden fenci g around it. Tbere is also a beautiful new patio dining set with cushions where we relaxed and ate and drank a lot of evenings watching the moon come up and shine on the sea. The drive up the single track road to the cottage was quite a experience the first time we did it, however you soon get used to it. Not a place for someone with limited mobility however as it is exceptionally steep and once you get to the property there are about 20 steps down to the front door. We loved it and would thoroughly recommend.

A very well equipped and maintained house for 6 people with georgeous views over the quaint Cornish harbour of Looe. The access lane is extremely challenging for cars and pedestrians alike but the climb is well worth the effort.

The recent work to provide the enclosed decking looks great and enhances the views from the property and the ability to enjoy them. This was our third visit and the house has been improved each time and we have enjoyed every stay. There are some good restaurants in Looe and around and walking around the town and out to Hannafore and beyond is always interesting. Yes, the steep access can be a challenge the first time, but you soon get used to it. Only slight issue is the mattress in the main bedroom is a bit uncomfortable and the bed does have a habit of sliding across the floor when you sit up! Otherwise, this is a well equipped and looked after house that is a great place to stay with superb views across the harbour and out to sea. Hope to be back next year!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your kind comments. There are wheels on the beds in the main bedrooms. The wheels do however have a locking mechanism and if locked, the beds will not move - something to be aware of if you are a future guest. We are sorry you found the bed a little uncomfortable. The beds have relatively new Hypnos mattresses; we will however check the bed and mattress in light of your comment.

Beautiful house in a fabulous location - especially the view. Tregolva had everything you could need or want to make your stay as stress free as possible. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants/pubs nearby.

Loved it only problem was the steep hill to property. My husband is a good driver but you could smell the clutch burning. We left the car parked up at the property the whole while we was there. Other than that we would go back in a instant except for this problem. It might help if the gate past the property was unlocked as this might not be as steep.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The vast majority of guests in vehicles ranging from estates to people carriers have navigated the lane. In addition, the residents of the lane drive up and down this road many times a day. It is a Cornwall lane, which are known to be steep and narrow. The property manager offers to drive all new guests to the house. Guests are given the opportunity to gauge if they are comfortable navigating the lane. For those not comfortable driving along narrow lanes, alternative parking can be found in Looe, including free on street parking. Unfortunately there is only emergency access from the top of the lane, something to be aware of if your Sat Nav takes you that way, as happened on this occasion.

Sadly we had read the reviews on access and dismissed them. However had two unfortunate incidents on ascent with car and pedestrians. It was also too steep for my wife with RA-I think more attention should be given in information. Was told that access could be 12.30 but this did not work and builders were around until after 6pm on Monday although not a great problem it did cause some car shuffling etc and the very nice new verandah but had no seating so could only stand out to admire view.

The house was lovely and the views over the harbour and bay are amazing. Looe is such a lovely place. Lots to do and see and the people are so friendly. Getting the ferry across the river to East Looe was fun (50p each) and our boys loved the beach and crabbing in the harbour. I would love to have rated it as a 10 because the house itself was perfect for us and the views made the access issues worth it - but .. Although warnings are provided about the access more should be mentioned on this. (The visitor book shows the issues people have had). It is only £35 to park the car on the main carpark by the bridge for the week. In the end we dropped our bags at the bottom of the narrow road up to the property (but not before nearly burning out my clutch trying to go up). don't be put of, the views are worth it BUT it is essential to check out the road before attempting it and if your car is not powerful and is full of gear don't do it. The locals manage it (but they have had practise and have chosen cars to suit). The house is very well equipped (there was even a pint of milk, biscuits and teabags on arrival) but unfortunately the BBQ needs some maintenance and was out of gas. We had to use disposables. A shame as everything else was great (but holiday BBQs are important to us and a BBQ is something we look for in the amenities when booking a cottage). Everything else was perfect. Lovely accommodation, good showers, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen etc. It was a bit expensive (inflated half term prices) but it's the best cottage we have stayed in in a longtime. If we can face the long drive from Lancashire we would love to stay there again.
