What a beautiful place to stay, peace, tranquility and local amenities only a few miles away. Views to die for. Comfortable house with everything you needed, and located with easy access to a number of beautiful beaches, loughs and safe cycleways. Nearest town Newport has all you need and is set on the beautiful Black Oak river. Highly recommend and the owners were more than helpful.

The cottage is described as four miles from Newport which it is but up steep hills and not suitable for most people for cycling. A car is essential at all times. The area around the house is unkempt. The ensuite facilities are stained and need attention. The crockery needs sorting to remove chipped items. The beds bedding and towels are old and need replacing. The sheets were worn and uncomfortable not always fitting the beds which in some cases were themselves tired and uncomfortable.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Sorry you were not completely satisfied with our holiday home. We appreciate your comments and have addressed most of your concerns on the list. We have people each year that repeat book this house on a regular basis and we always ask how was their stay, and address any issues they would have, we never got any issues that you highlighted. Regarding the areas around the house, due to strict planning regulations we are unable to do much here as one of the regulations states that the landscape around the house must match the surrounding landscape, (it was extremely hard to get planning in this rural location and no other house has got planning since!). With regards to the ensuite facilities we asked our cleaner on this one, she pointed out that the last people to have the house used some sort of hair dye and it had dried in and she was unable to remove all stains on time, we apologise for this. Since we have got in professional cleaners and all ensuites have been cleaned. All crockery has been removed and replaced with new. All bed linen and towels have been replaced with new. All bed mattresses have been replaced also.
