Both Garden Cottage and Stable Cottage have superb far reaching views over countryside where sheep, deer, various birds (including buzzards, pheasant and owls), can be observed, and all three barn conversions have access to superb walks less than two minutes from the door! The disused Meon Valley railway line is 11 miles long, ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. There is easy access onto this and the properties are set approximately half way between Wickham and West Meon. The Wayfarers Walk can also be joined at Chalk Hill, Soberton. This a 71-mile trail runs from Inkpen Beacon in the north of the county to the sea at Emsworth. There are also easy links to the South Downs National Park and also nearby is Bere Forest, a 100-acre woodland area with walks and play areas. The River Meon is close by and is ideal for trout fishing and there are various golf clubs within the area. There is a lovely country pub just 550 yards from the properties, and many other popular pubs and inns within a 5 mile radius. There is a lovely historic church adjacent to the pub. West Meon is about a 5-minute drive, with pubs serving great food and where the founder of Lords cricket rests. Wickham and Bishops Waltham are about 6 miles away, with an array of independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Places to visit within easy reach include Winchester cathedral, the New Forest, Chichester and beaches at Hayling Island. Portsmouth with the Spinnaker Tower, waterside dining, museums, art galleries, theatre, retail shopping designer outlets and day trips to the Isle of Wight, all within a 30-minute drive. There is a golf course 2 miles away, and fishing, walking, birdwatching riding and cycling are all close by – making this the ideal choice for those who enjoy the outdoors. Beach 12 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 550 yards.
The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests.

An amazing quiet getaway. Spotlessly clean, lovely views plenty to see and do in the local area. Very safe and dog friendly. Owners were very helpful. Would definitely book again.

We really can’t recommend Garden Cottage highly enough having spent Christmas and New Year there. The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully equipped and very spacious. A real bonus was the dog secure garden and courtyard, not to mention a lovely field in which to walk your canine companion. Gill also thoughtfully supplies throws for the sofas and treats and bowls for doggy use. The kitchen has everything you could wish for. The bathroom was gorgeous with a choice of shower or bath. Hot water came through immediately. The shared Boot Room was enormously useful for wet and muddy kit whilst the Laundry Room (which also houses the freezer) was fitted out thoughtfully with every need catered for. The Walled Garden is rightly for humans only! I am looking forward to seeing how that will evolve. There is ample walking right from the door. The 11 mile former railway is excellent but there are also myriad footpaths to explore. The coast is also easily accessible. The local pub, the White Lion serves fabulous food and the bar is dog friendly too. It is a five minute walk from the cottage. The property is very quiet and often the only sound was from the birds, especially the resident tawny owls. The cottage owners, Gill snd Trevor could not be more helpful. Frankly we can’t wait to to return!

Fantastic stay!! A little piece of heaven. The best holiday let I have stayed in. The quality is outstanding in the cottage with everything that you could possibly need. The surroundings of the cottage are beautiful with an amazing walled garden. Completely dog friendly and beautiful walks on the doorstep. Lovely welcome gifts for both humans and dogs. The hosts are amazing and cannot do enough for you during your stay. I would 100% recommend to anyone who wants escape the hustle and bustle of life for a bit. Thank you Gill/Trevor looking forward to coming back.

Garden Cottage is quite simply the absolute BEST Holiday Cottage experience I have enjoyed with my dog! I always have four priorities when choosing a holiday cottage: 1. Stunning location 2. Luxury Cottage. 3. Dog-friendly, and the most important priority of all, 4. Enclosed garden for my dog! It is extremely rare to get all these boxes ticked ( maybe I’m fussy!) but, if I am going on holiday with my dog, I want her to enjoy the experience as much as I do. So often, the term ‘enclosed garden’ means ‘ postage stamp!’ Well, no more! Garden Cottage has all of the above in bucketloads! It is simply OUTSTANDING in the quality of provision, scenery and thoughtfulness. As a keen gardener ( and now a very envious one!) I was attracted to this holiday cottage by the absolutely stunning walled garden on site. It is an oasis of peace and beauty, and there’s no entrance fee! I was able to spend part of every day, just strolling around the walled garden, enjoying the plants! Dogs are not allowed in the walled garden, but I was able to leave my dog in her own holiday cottage garden, perfectly safely, while I enjoyed this wonderful place. Stunning views across the field to the hills and woods, from Garden Cottage, meant that all afternoons and evenings were spent soaking up the panorama. Some people like to spend their holidays visiting places of interest, and that’s fair enough, but for me, it’s all about the incredible location, and this holiday is absolutely perfect! Gill and Trevor, the owners, have very kindly thought of everything to make your holiday special! It really is a fabulous place to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of Hampshire.
