Just a mile from the beach, this holiday village property is ideally located for Cornish beaches, walking and family fun.

This mid-terrace cottage is set in the grounds of Tolroy Manor Holiday Village. Located in the hillside above Hayle, and set in delightful grounds with the old Cornish manor at the heart of the park, the holiday village is perfectly located for some of the finest beaches in Cornwall. It offers great facilities for the whole family at no extra cost including an indoor heated swimming pool (open Easter to October), sauna, tennis and squash courts, table tennis, children’s adventure run and play area, under-5’s soft play area, crazy golf and giant chess. In addition there is a clubhouse with family entertainment, restaurant, bar, take away and shop within the holiday village. All facilities are available from Easter to October. The cottage is set amongst similar holiday properties with a small open-plan lawned area and patio to the front.
This is an ideal base for exploring the rugged north coast, including the sand dunes and long beach at Hayle Towans, 2 miles, that stretches up to Godrevy Island, and the long beach at Gwithian, popular with surfers. Walk the rugged coastal path to Portreath or visit Tehiddy Country Park with its 250 acres of bridle paths, woodland, wildlife ponds and cycle trails. The scenic coastal train runs from nearby St Erth to St Ives with its quaint harbour, beaches and winding cobbled streets filled with cafes, restaurants, shops and art galleries including the Tate Modern. It is just 30 minutes’ drive to the tranquil sailing waters of the south coast: visit Falmouth with its busy harbours for boat trips and the National Maritime Museum. For fun days’ out for the whole family, visit Paradise Park in Hayle, Flambard’s Theme Park in Helston or The National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek. Continue south to West Cornwall including Penzance with its open-air lido and St Michael’s Mount. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The cottage hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived at 6.15 pm. Beds hadn’t been changed. Furniture uncomfortable and very shabby. Dirty washing up left in sink. Food left in freezer. The cottage is dismal and depressing. We stayed two days (two days too long) and moved into far superior accommodation on Tolroy Manor. The park is nice. This cottage is not. Mildew on blinds, around bath and thick on windows. Heating is two noisy convector heaters. The inside of cupboards were filthy. To get into the kitchen you have to go sideways on the aperture is so narrow. The settee is sagging and uncomfortable. I wish I’d taken notice of others reviews before booking.

Whilst the facilities were absolutely fantastic, we wouldn’t stay there again as the beds were dreadful and the accommodation was a little small/cosy. We loved the indoor pool and the layout and the facilities. But when you can’t get a goodnight’s rest it kind of ruins the the whole experience. If it weren’t for the terrible beds then yes we would absolutely book again. We had a lovely time, but just had sleep.

We double checked that this cottage was suitable for 6 but there was sofa/chairs for 4; not enough crockery other than a mixture of sizes of glasses, bowls and plates to feed my family. The shower was broken on our first morning and fixed after 5 days, the mattresses were very worn with springs pressing through and the general feel of the property was old fashioned and basic. We therefore spent every day and evening off site and as little time in the cottage as possible. The location for accessing the south west coast was good. We ordered food from the restaurant and being a warm evening asked to sit outside. Our food was served on the tables outside in cardboard boxes!

Disappointed by overall cleanliness of cottage. All furniture mismatched, old, worn and needed general overhaul. Also unable to change bedding after first week, plus lots of clutter in property.

Only comfortable seating for 3 adults. Place very tired, needs upgrading. No instructions or information on site and local area, immersion was switched off when we arrived. Location instructions inaccurate.
