The cottage was good. A great size, especially the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The bathrooms were good and hot water was plentiful, with 6 of us showering every morning. There was a good supply of cooking implements. The down side was the mattresses on the beds, which were too soft and badly sprung, leaving many of our party with sore backs. Also a lot of the crockery was chipped. The location is wonderful with lots of walks from the house. This was ideal for our 2 labradors. Overall we had a great time, but would only return if the mattresses were changed.

Timaru is a lovely, spacious cottage which is excellent value for money and I would recommend it to others. Cleanliness was good except for the 2 fridges which I cleaned on arrival and there were a few chipped dishes. The location although not entirely private was ideal for us.

A lovely house, modern and fully equipped with everything we needed. The location was excellent for us to explore the highlands, it is short drive to the sandy beach at Rosemakie and Chanonry Point, where we were able to see Dolphins everyday.

Enjoyed our time at Timaru and whilst the bungalow is cosy and fully equipped there were a few niggly points. Previous visitors had commented on the lack of mirrors for example in bedrooms and we would reiterate that . The bedroom chest of drawers in two rooms had broken or no handles, towels with holes and leaking shower head in the main bathroom were a few of the minor issues. We also felt that the location wasn't as private and secluded as described, owing to the property being one of around six leading off the track.

We absolutely loved our stay at Timaru. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived and it is a huge cottage with plenty of space. WIFI was really good, managed to stream TV at pretty high quality which was great as I could keep up with live sport etc on my Sky App. Although the marble in the floor mentioned in previous reviews is not ideal, I certainly would not let this deter you from booking. We had a small toddler with us and just covered it with pillows and quilt and with the living area being so huge there was still more than enough room for us all and for her to run around! Walking around the local farmland was lovely and we were made very welcome when we met the family (owners) while walking around and we all fell in love with the animals there. It was also lovely to walk around with our daughter who also enjoyed seeing the animals. The horses looked pretty happy to us too! Thank you for a lovely stay, sure we'll be back!

The cottage is set in a beautiful location with lovely views across the water and is only 20 minutes from Inverness, Ullapool and the west coast is around an hour away. There were one or two snagging issues which was disappointing but in general the cottage was warm and comfortable. Sadly one of the bathrooms wasn't operational and clearly hadn't been useable for a while. A little more attention to detail would have improved our experience.

Had an absolute fantastic week here. House was immaculate. Well equipt, stunning views, and loved the goats greeting us in the morning for there mints ? the only negative I could add was the marble in the middle of living room floor. My sister tripped and landed on it and badly bruised all her leg. Would highly recommend to anyone loved it and will be back .. thanks guys for a great holiday ?

The pictures do not really explain the location of the cottage, and the approach was a little depressing. You get the idea it is amongst rolling grass fields, whereas the reality is somewhat different close up. The final approach is past fields of sad horses, and through what is a dumping ground for the farm. Watch out for the super sized potholes at the end of the drive.

so close to being a really good cottage, but let down due to lack of attention, and not listening to what people have said before. Good points:very spacious, allows dogs bad points: strong sewage smell, heating uncontrollable, oven caked in grease, not enough glasses mugs or mirrors. very dangerous concrete feature in middle of the room. 3 of our party hurt themselves on it.

A lovely place to stay, a few niggles which let it down a bit. For example, not enough matching mugs for drinks, only one wine glass. Creature comforts were fine, heating fine once sorted, we all think we would like to return, so thanks to our hosts.
