Spectacular views of Blackwaterfoot beach, the Mull of Kintyre and Machrie Bay can be enjoyed from halfway up Balgowan Hill, to the right of the cottage for those who enjoy a gentle walk, and historians will love the site of Ballygowan Fort, an ancient burial ground on top of Balgowan Hill.
