Spend an unforgettable holiday on the stunning Isle of Skye at this architect-designed property, which has loch and mountain views.

Tigh Fraoich is set within the rural crofting township of Carbostbeg and offers views over Loch Harport and the Cuillin mountain range. This peaceful and tranquil place offers a true ‘get away from it all experience’, whether you plan to explore the area or just enjoy the comfort of Tigh Fraoich, which is detached, stylishly furnished and equipped to offer every comfort.

Both Talisker Distillery, Skye’s oldest whisky distillery, and Carbost Inn (which has regular live music) are only a short distance from Tigh Fraoich. The Minginish Peninsula has much to offer and there is superb walking for all abilities, as well as the Cullin for experienced climbers. Of interest, too, are Talisker Bay, Glenbrittle Beach and the Fairy Pools. Various craft shops and art galleries offer good browsing for visitors, but it is the scenery and the changing light that makes this area so dramatic.

On the west of the island, a trip to Dunvegan Castle, the Coral Beaches, Neist Point Lighthouse or the beautiful Waternish Peninsula are all recommended. Portree, the bustling main town, is where you can take a stroll down to the harbour and watch the fishing vessels unload their catch of the day. Take a sea trip from Portree to see the varied sea and bird life and also enjoy the beauty of the rugged coastline. To the north of Portree is the Trotternish Peninsula which boasts some of Skye’s most stunning scenery. To the south of the island is Broadford, with the southern tip called ‘The Garden of Skye’. Here you can visit the ruins of Armadale Castle and its lovely gardens. Skye has so much to offer in the way of outdoor pursuits including kayaking, pony trekking, boat trips and fishing/angling, so come and enjoy. Beach 5 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This was our second visit to this cottage and it didn't disappoint. Warm, comfortable and well equipped, we had absolutely no complaints and would use it again if we return to the same area.

A warm ( as it snowed each day of our stay) and very comfortable base for touring Skye.
